Would be the most amazing deal. I think Collins might be a guy who could help him get his act together somewhat too. He still has amazing potential.

SF are you saying that if Miami called us and offered Beasley for Kapono, we turn it down?

what i was told was....we want to use green and kapono at the trade deadline to get a piece that gives us a chance to make an impact in the playoffs

was told collins hates work ethic of beasley..do we really need another tweener?

miami wants a shooter..so the kapono interest may be true...but if they are looking to clear salary..how does kapono for beasley clear salary? it doesnt.

they need the cap room this year..not next.

we coulda had beasley at deadline last year and we said no way...our stance hasnt chanced.

If we have no interest in Beasley then our front office is flat out dumb. Between trading a huge expiring (and our only post defender) for Nocioni, not acquiring a 2nd round pick, and not even considering this deal, my patience is wearing thin with Ed Stefatski.

I have defended him before because most of his moves that backfired were actually the right/only move at the time. But lately he is pissing me off.

Honestly, my interest in Beasley is minimal. I may do it, just for the "there's not much risk" factor, but I'm not exactly holding my breath, or have any expectations should we get him.

Willie green and kapono at the trade deadline for a "impact player"? I don't see that happening.. ED Sefan is a idiot. *Facepalms*

beasley is a tweener 3/4..you have thad and nocioni already there.

i think they would move green and kapono for an impact center..but those dont grow on trees.

no one likes beasley around the league......he has a really bad rep/value.

i guess there is merit to buying low...but still.

one other thing.....my buddy heard through unnamed contact(not affiliated with sixers) that lebron has had cold feet today about leaving cleveland......and its entirely possible he announces he is staying tonight. He still kinda thought miami would win out cuz of his buddies....but he said door wasnt shut on cleveland yet.

two expirings, perhaps with filler or a pick to get an impact player...not a superstar..but something decent since expirings are hot commodities.

Beasley has a team option next year. If that isn't exercised, that is the same as an expiring contract. Sorry, I just can't imagine that Beasley has less value than Krapono. Surely there would be a team offering a protected 1st for him just to make it look like their GM has done something.

Which is the only reason we could get him for Kapono.

And Beasley is basically an expiring. So that argument is pointless.

Okay lets take this at full face value, and play this game. Lets try and identify a logical target. I will get the ball rolling, looking at last years rosters and who could fit this trade as available to us and actual help:

Atlantic:
Celtics: Perkins (No shot at)
Nets: Lopez (No shot at)
Knicks: Lee (No shot at, fa)
Toronto: Bargiani (No shot at)

Central:
Bulls: Noah (no shot at), Brad Miller (FA, so highly unlikely)
Cavs: Varejao (no shot at), Shaq (FA, so highly unlikely)
Pistons: Wallace (retired) Maxiel (Really hard to consider this our help)
Pacers: Hibbert (Not likely)
Bucks: Bogut (no shot at)

Hawks: Hoford (no shot at), Zaza (Really hard to consider this our help)
Bobcats: Chandler (Maybe?)
Heat: Jermaine Oneil (FA, so highly unlikely)
Magic: Dwight (definitely Ed's target), Gortat (Appears to have more value than are junk, but could probably be had for the right stuff)
Wizards:McGee (highly unlikely)

Just starting at the East, I really don't see this happening but I guess if we want to add salary we might be able to get Chandler and recreate Dalembert.

Thanks SF for bringing sanity to an insane thread.

Why the hell would we want Beasley? BEASLEY?

Glad to hear Collins has sense. That's the best thing I've read in 4 pages.

Use it in a 3-way trade then. If Orlando would be interested in Beasley, then why not? Jesus Christ, we have a huge, mediocre roster, filled with SG's, and no true big man - lets do something with it. Delambert for Nocioni and Hawes was a stupid trade, but Kapono for Beasley, which we can trade to someone else? It should be highly considered.

From the 5 million trade rumors over this summer it sounds like every team in the league has pretty much turned down taking the guy on for virtually nothing in return, his own team is desparately trying to move him even before they had the possible troika in thir pocket. Some guys really are just such bad guys nobody wants them. Really how crappy of a person and player do you ahve to be to go from the second pick in the draft to trade bait for Jason Kapono? Real bad. What kind of trade chip is he when every team in the lague already doesn't want him?

I am not surprised the team has no interest in him and will happily turn down headcases again and again. This team had a bad enough attitude last year with a bunch of mostly decent guys, the last thing Collins needs is to try and baby some major loser just because he was over rated coming out of college. Hell, he couldn't even stay on one high school team for very long. I didn't like him in the draft, thought he would be another Glenn Robinson and so far he has severely underperformed those mild expectations.

NO to Beasley, even for free. If they threw in a draft pick I might take it and cut him.
