Phoenix has no problem scoring the ball from the 1-4 positions, so getting 8-12pt a night provided the impact Nerlens has and will continue to make going forward on the defensive end, is no big deal. Also nerlens ability to make a play on D to start the break and run the floor with their guards would be a lethal combo. I really could go on and on, but you get the point.

If the Suns made the no brainer pick and took Nerlens. WTF would have Hinkie done?

I could keep going with this butterfly effect stuff. I guess what I'm really trying to say is... THANK YOU PHOENIX, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOUUUU!!!! :D

You seriously think Noel is the missing piece for us to become a contender? Does Philly have better weed than Arizona? Because whatever your smoking must be amazing.

Suns have 99 problems but Len ain't one.

We wouldn't be better with Noel instead of Len. We may be worse but definitely not better.

Rather than post why, you can all check out this thread instead

I would still take Len 10 out of 10 times if we re did the draft. Nothing against Noel, Len is just a better fit for us (true 7 footer with good weight) and the guy has a very high ceiling.

Thank god the Suns took Len, and the Cavs took Bennett, and the Wiz took Porter, and the Cats took Zeller.

Glad the Suns are happy with Len though I echo MrxBlack's thoughts.

Well it was someone else that stumbled on it because they posted a link to the Suns forum. I don't have THAT much time.

Len vs Noel?

Noel is better or atleast slightly better with Len plus Noel's got better upside.

I think Noel would have been perfect with the suns where they can let him anchor their defense with 4 offensively inclined player to spread out the floor for him. Fwiw, Plumlee and Morris seem like good players to compliment Noel.

Oh, and I think we'd be too slow with a Len-Embiid frontcourt. Noel's quickness and athleticism gives us the flexibility to match-up with smaller line-ups.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Better than being the worst franchise in sports for what, 2 years running?

I literally didn't throw one insult against the 76ers despite having ton of ammo and yet you want throw a dig at the Suns instead of debating Len vs Noel (who I didn't say anything bad about either).

I think Noel's the right pick for the Sixers and Len for the Suns.

We need a big heavy big man who can run and Len gives us that. Yall need an Ibaka type guy to compliment Embiid, and Noel gives you that.

You guys should be thanking Cleveland. If they took Len #1 (which was rumored), I'd imagine Noel was coming to Phoenix.

It worked out well for both teams. Both have high ceilings. It'll be fun to compare these guys through the next 5 years.

Said it earlier but I'll say it again since the thread has come back to life like a phoenix (see what I did there?....never mind).

Of the five players taken before Noel the two that it would be weird to make this thread about are Len and Oladipo as they have both exceeded expectations. Make this thread about Cleveland or Washington and most of the responses would just be "yup, you're right."
The feedback I've received from our fans is they understand we are trying to build something great. Good decisions come from having a broad set of options and making tough calls. We will do it unblinkingly. We have to be willing to take smart risks-Hinkie

It was reported that the Suns training staff were highly suspect of Noel's knee, but were comfortable with Len's feet. Otherwise, yes, the Suns may very well have taken Noel. But all things being equal, and were both non-injured, I still believe the Suns take Len 9 times out of 10. Len has an offensive game that Noel is likely never to have. Noel has a defensive prowess that Len is likely never to attain. Regarding impact to the team--Len's defense is better than Noel's offense, so I believe it came down to that, even if Noel's defense is slightly better than Len's Offense. Len was the more balanced prospect, not to mention the more 'solid' prospect. Athletic 7'1" guys are a rare commodity--which is more rare than Noel's capabilities.

And one thing to keep in mind was that Len was projected to go higher than Noel, even #1 in many mocks, so choosing Len over Noel was a no-brainer.

Enjoy Noel--he's gonna be a great defender. But if the intent behind this thread was that Phoenix somehow made a mistake in selecting Len over Noel, I believe that sentiment is just flat out wrong--sorry. Had Philly been 5th and Phx 6th, I believe the results are the same, so I'm not saying that Len is the better player, just that for the Suns, he was the logical choice, just like Noel was the logical choice for the Sixers.

Lol. Athletic 7'1'' guys are more rare than hyper-athletic 6'11'' guys who have historically good block and steal rates?

Seriously Phoenix bros, this is a big ol' nothingburger. I think most Sixers fans realize that Len's a player, and we're all quite happy with Noel. It looks like it worked out for both sides, which is awesome. Some people will flame no matter what, but on the whole, there's no there...there.

Phoenix fans are deeply insecure about Alex Len. Don't post anything negative about him or else they will come out of the woodwork. trust me.

I think we need to be a little self-reflective and see that we may be perceived the same way about Noel. That said, I still think Noel is the better prospect.
