It's something they'll have to work on. Neither were pick-and-roll savants during their respective freshman seasons.

Yeah both of them, as well as Okafor, will need to work on pick and roll. However, Simmons shouldn't have a problem getting an entry pass in to Okafor/Embiid on the block. Our team couldn't even do that last season which is why Okafor had to show off his face up game. Perhaps a blessing in disguise.

If we keep Okafor, and Embiid is playing then obviously post entry passes become really important. It will be really nice having a 6'10 elite passer throw in that pass, as opposed to a 6'0 player.

I don't know if it is the same people, but some people complain about how Okafor can't play PF because he's not quick/athletic enough to handle stretch 4s in the league. So basically the only perfect PF defensively would be a combination of Okafor and Simmons that can guard bruisers in the paint and mobile guys that create spacing. Who else has a PF that meets that criteria?

I was thinking the same exact thing. Either Okafor is not quick enough to defend the majority of PFs or Simmons is not big enough to defend the majority of PFs. Can't be both.

Simmons is pretty much average size and length for a power forward. His length won't be a huge advantage there or anything but I don't see this idea that he's undersized.

I think what people should be keying on is the Sixers have versatility up front to play a lot of different styles. Sixers can go big or small depending on what is needed. That is a blessing. People should be happy. Maybe not so much in the regular season, but that versatility will be huge in the playoffs when matches are emphasized. Let's not be so shortsighted here.

I remember hearing about the last Lakers run and how the success that they had wasn't so much due to Kobe, but rather having that frontcourt of Bynum, Gasol, and Odom. The size and versatility that those players had was too much for other teams to handle. I'm intrigued because I think we have the ability to duplicate that frontcourt once we add Simmons to Embiid and Jah.

Yeah, now all we need to do is find a player to be Kobe.

Be careful with the words you choose. The Last Lakers run was ALL about Kobe and a great supporting cast. The Bynum, Gasol, Odom trio is not a championship team. The hardest part is getting an all-time great winner which we have nobody close to that on the roster yet.

We can't have too many alpha males on the team. Okafor and Embiid and Simmons are alpha males. You should only have about 2 max alpha males. Everyone needs to know their roles. Okafor needs to shoot. Embiid will want his shots. Simmons is unselfish but he also needs his shots. Okafor is probably the most dependent on getting his because that's what he's great at and the only thing he really is great at. If Okafor isn't scoring he's doing nothing. This is part of the reason why Okafor should probably be moved. One less alpha male and we could also improve the offensive cohesion.

Julius Randle with a better handle, better vision, worse jump shot?

No, their athleticism isn't even in the same ballpark, much less Simmons pure feel for the game and vision

Is Embiid an alpha male? He seemed quite content playing second fiddle to Wiggins in their one season at Kansas. He's a late bloomer so I'm not sure he's had years of knowing/feeling that he was the man.

Randle is a broke man's Ben Simmons. Simmons is superior in every aspect of the game, including measurements.

True. But once Embiid knows how dominant he is he will be an alpha male. We are probably going to add 2 more alpha males in next year's draft too lol.

JoJo killed a lion. There's nothing more alpha than that.
