And he's about to get paid? Time to deal him.

Yea, trade a truly talented big who could turn into a 20/10 guy with a ridiculous offensive repertoire, acceptable defense, a solid 10-15 foot jumper, and 3 years left on rookie deal in favor of a guy who has zero offensive skills, terrible hands, couldn't even manage to 1 all-defensive team vote, who probably won't get much better than he already is, and who will want $20-25 million a yr next summer...

Okafor's skillset is very hard replace while Noel's (rim protection/hustle/dirty work) can be replaced much easier. Trade Noel and go find a much cheaper replacement somewhere else. Personally, I think a guy like Wood or Holmes could eventually be that replacement.

Calling Okafor's defense acceptable is egregious at best

Flat out ignoring the possibility of it ever improving is a bit egregious as well, imo

Read on Twitter

Then there's the Noel for Brandon Ingram rumor
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

That's a rumor started by a Philly fan. How about Noel for Steph Curry?

What Philly fan was that?

The actual rumor is the LA pick and Noel for Ingram. He had mentioned what was specifically relative to the thread, however.

saw this tweet... what triggered it? was there a shooting or anything in Boston yesterday? or he just randomly felt homesick?

Weird offseason by my dude. This recent pro-Boston tweet just adds to it.

Okafor talks about Chicago a lot, nobody cares, Wroten used to talk about Washington a lot, nobody cared. If Noel was from anywhere else it wouldn't matter, I doubt he was being cryptic.

oh yeah of course. that's not the problem i don't think. i mean i like when philly ballers rep the city (morris bros, waiters, henderson, etc...) when they come back into town or something good happens with the birds or whatever.

my point is the timing is either a response to
1) something non-sports related happened in boston (i was out all day and didn't see the news to know)
2) he was homesick
3) a response to the LAL rumors and he was like "f this again !"

FWIW he changed his twitter avatar from a pic of him to straight black in the last 24 hours as well.

That Ingram rumor is hilarious. Anything for the clicks I guess.

I don't know what this tweet really means, but I like the fact that he identifies himself strongly with the city he grew up in. Just because he plays for the Sixers doesn't mean that Philly becomes his favorite city. Boston is in his blood, and it always will be.

right, that's fine. but this thread is a collection of weird behavior by him this offseason. This continues to add to it, IMO.

Not one "welcome to the Sixers" tweet to Ben Simmons. 3 tweets all summer, one about the passing of Sean Rooks. Hasn't been around the team as far as we know here or in Vegas. Just a lot of interesting, not necessarily pro-Sixers behavior from one of their best and longest tenured players.

Yeah, I agree. He has been surprisingly quiet and absent this off season. Last time I saw him with another Sixer it was that photo of him with Embiid at Coachella I think it was.

It certainly makes it seem like he is disengaged, and maybe even disgruntled.

He's updating his profile pic and background on twitter. Might be telling what he replaces them with. It's the offseason, screw it. Lets really get paranoid.

I don't know why Nerlens is down. Almost all media guys seems to prefer him over Jah and has nothing to say but good things about him.

Just saying. NBA Schedule comes out tonight. We know Bryan Colangelo loves the spotlight.
