People trash a player continuously (fair to a degree) and then expect to get something valuable for him. Never ceases to amaze me.

Unless another team really wants Ben, which is possible as there is plenty of untapped and already tapped talent there and it only takes one GM to make that happen, then your only options are to trade him at his low value point to another team, or trade him for...Danny Green and install Simmons as small forward with a shooting/ scoring point guard being brought in to soak up the PG minutes with Maxey and Simmons plausibly developing as a high post passer and PNR rim runner when he isn't grabbing the ball and leading or passing ahead on the break in a point forward runaway train style. It would take some offensive redesign and might simply be a pump and dump move to raise his value before a trade later on.

It is entirely plausible that some team will grab him as a more athletic Draymond Green now, that is how he can be marketed by Morey, not as a PG, but a bigger, faster Draymond Green point center. Things are a bit crazy around the league this offseason already, so pretty much nothing would surprise me.

Winning just one championship with Embiid would be worth 20 straight years with no playoffs. That's how important they win with him. He's that special and he's that beloved by the fans and he puts his body on the line. Never winning with his window would be an all-time Philly sports tragedy. That's why Morey must do whatever it takes to get that missing superstar for Ben. No matter what it takes and I do mean no matter. I don't care if they have to include 8 years worth of first rounders or swaps if that's what it takes. Who cares about the future, there is no future without Embiid. They must win with him or else everything else is meaningless.

And if Morey can't do it, you get rid of him and find someone who has the balls to make that move or who can.

Hey just a Raps fan checking the temperature on Simmons. Just wanted to say you are misjudging his stock if you think a Ben for Lavine trade even straight up would be appealing for the Bulls. Unfortunately with this epic choke job you’re better off keeping him and hoping he regains some worth come next trade deadline because teams are probably only gonna be looking to get him for pennies for the dollar

Must be 2 Kyrie’s. Certainly can’t be talking about trading Kyrie Irving for Ben Simmons and calling that a win win for both teams. The Nets would block Daryl Morey’s number

Not straight we would need to also bleed picks .. but they need defense, and they know it.

Pretty sure there's still a market for Ben Simmons.
There are a lot of teams who:
1) Barely get the chance of trading for a All-star calibre player (which he still is, during RS :-)) like Cleveland, Minnesota, Detroit, Sacramento, ... NY?
2) He was voted second DPOY, there are a lot of teams in need of that kind of D (Minnesota, Cleveland, Washington, Detroit, Sacramento, ... NY?)
3) There are still bad GM's in the NBA, no worries

That being said, I'm ok with trading him if we can get a scorer back, but I'm not ok with trading Maxey and/or Mattyse just to get rid of Ben. That's insane.

To me, Joel, Seth, Tyrese and Mattyse are the keepers on this team. Still not out on Tobias, because he cannot take games over offensively (which is what we seek) when needed, but if he can become the teams 3rd leading scorer.

I follow the Blazers quite extensively and they're trying to move CJ in the worst way. They know they cannot move forward with a core of Dame and CJ. They need a more balanced roster that complements building a championship team around Dame. They'll ideally trade CJ and then re-sign Powell. Adding Simmons to Portland will make a lot of sense for them.

There is a framework for a CJ/Simmons swap if you guys are interested. It would help both teams.

Simmons + Hill for CJ + Covington + 2023 & 2025 POR FRPs

McCollum(34)/Maxey(14)
Green(20)/Curry(24)/Maxey(4)
Covington(16)/Thybulle(24)/Green(8)
Harris(34)/Covington(14)
Embiid(32)/Howard(16)

McCollum/Maxey/SRP
Green/Curry/Milton
Covington/Thybulle/Joe
Harris/FRP/Tolliver
Embiid/Howard/Reed

I understand the concern about McCollum not being a top 15 player. He's not a true 2nd banana. But do we win this series with him and Cov instead of Ben and Hill? Absolutely. Do we potentially take down Milwaukee too? I think it'd give us a better shot than what we have now.

Unless Dame or Beal are there for the taking (which I don't expect, as they're both loyal AF), I think this is the best move out there.

wow this is a lopsided Philly trade. you're essentially saying that Simmons is worth 3 assets plus CJ? no way

CJ is an iso scorer

He’s not a passer or a defender

There will need to be other moves if it’s Ben for CJ & don’t think that the addition of RoCo will make up the defence

Love the guy but the injuries have taken a toll

If Ben goes (and he should) there will need to be a number of moves and particularly if CJ is one of them

Ideally Simmons kills it at the olympics (if he plays) and boosts his trade value there

I love how Bucks and Raps fans are in here telling us about Simmons’ value.

I maintain that his value, while way down from where it once was, is still pretty good.

Kyrie's glass is almost as soft as JoJo's , and not as stupid to keep playing recklessly on it when cracked.

If he plays, there wont be a dominant first option C who will put him in stand around do nothing mode , but plenty of perimeter shooters to feed off him.
