Beasley will likely be in the package. The salary would be needed.

It will be Edwards, Beasley and either Beverley/Prince.

In the best case scenario where he develops to his potential, Embiid wont be an MVP calibeer player anymore and probably even a bad contract. I dont think Embiid can last at this level for more than 2 or 3 years.

Also Edwards is very talented for sure and could be great but i wouldnt be shocked if ends up being an overrated chucker, like a Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis or something like that.

I mean, given we are in a very difficult situation with Simmons playing hard ball while also not getting that much interest on him around the league, i know Edwards would be a good consolation prize. But i think its very likely we are not a significant better team with him for the next few years, which is what we have left to compete with Embiid in his prime.

Edwards and maxey give you a strong back court for the next ten years. Edwards scored 20 a game with two ball hogs on his team. He can develop with the sixers off the bench and as he grows he can take over for curry or green. He’s going to be an all star no doubt in my mind. We get better now bc Simmons isn’t playing for us and we have a strong future.

Sure, in the future a Maxey-Edwards backourt and a declining Embiid can get us to the 2nd round, like this team with Simmons. Thats my point. I dont see us getting much better, its likely around a lateral move for the next couple of years, wich are CRUCIAL for us given Embiid is going to decline fast. Also there is a real posibility that Embiid doesnt want to waist the last years of his prime watching a kid learning how to win.

Scoring "20 a game" on a terrible team really dont mean that much. Im not writing the kid off, but hasnt show anything yet to project him as a superstar in the future. Thats why Minnesota is even considering the idea of trading him.

Of course, with the current situation with Simmons, Edwards would be a good consolation prize, but not much more. That was also my point.

On the other hand, if Edwards shows promise next season maybe we can still trade him for Dame, Spida or Beal at the deadline, something that is looking very difficult to do with Simmons right now. Maybe thats Moreys plan.

Content, mildly excited.

I was iffy on Edwards as a prospect, but his shooting confidence has not wavered and his trigger is relentless. Which, combined with his ability to handle and attack at his size and athleticism, makes him a multidimensional scorer that is a legit matchup nightmare.

Beasley is human scum, but he's a really talented bomber that will fit like a glove in the offense.

Also, this might be the first time I can remember that we had athletic dudes that could shoot. Usually our shooters are stiffs and our athletes are defensive-minded dudes with no jumper. Would be a breath of fresh air.

No idea whether it was the daughter married to Seth but would be more interesting if it was as she would be getting inside feedback

Just as an aside, does anyone actually believe that A-Rod would keep the Wolves in Minnesota if a Vegas move was on the table?

They’d be gone in 60 seconds

Hoping that Rosas is out because he's not onboard with a potential ramp up from Minny on the Ben Simmons trade front. And it only makes sense for Minny to keep all the superdweebs (Towns, Russell, Simmons) in place so they can play together like they always wanted to. So Edwards being a centerpiece of a deal is just the logical leap to be made.

I'd be fine with Edwards and I think it's a fair return. I know Timberwolf fans have other ideas. They think Jaden McDaniels alone can get it done for Simmons, but it's more than just adding Simmons to that roster. Simmons puts fans in the seats and wins games in the regular season. The trio of Simmons, Russell, and Towns would create quite a buzz and Minnesota would be looking at some nationally televised games AND a potential playoff birth. Something that team WILL NOT see with just keeping Edwards there. I'd even be willing to throw a little extra incentive their way if it meant getting this deal done. Edwards is a fine return for Ben Simmons. Certainly not what we were all initially hoping for...But not a bad ending either.

The current rumor is that Rosas got fired because he got caught having an affair. This is currently what I hope actually happened. As much as I want a good deal, I am always team chaos.

If Edwards is on the table, then we’re definitely doing a three team trade for Beal. He’s way more enticing to a team like Washington than four future firsts.

Edwards, Prince, and Layman works as a salary match for Ben.

That’s logical from everything that’s been said publicly. And I don’t necessarily expect it to happen, although I think it’s more likely with the management change.

That being said; KAT is their star, they have new ownership looking to make a splash, and they’ve already made a deal in the past to cater to KAT. If they asked KAT, there’s little doubt he would say “trade the rook, get my boy Ben.”

The other thing that is the the realm of possibility of happening is they decide to deal KAT and DLo.

I don’t trust “stats” on players on bad teams. Even Russell who was fill in all star injury replacement averaged 21/7 on almost 19 shots a game on average 3 point shooting. Look what happen to Russell when Sixers played him and the nets in playoffs. He got exposed.

Everyone saying Simmons got exposed in second round. Russell gets exposed right away.

How do Guys like fox perform in the playoffs. We don’t know. Teams game plan against them. Making their lives miserable.

So bank on talent and skillsets. If the guy happens to have the special intangibles to step up in the postseason, great.

Hold him out until the trade deadline, teams will know if they’re contenders by then and may be willing to make bigger moves. Said it before but what if the Kings are 5 games under .500 and Davion looks like a stud? They could end up willing to deal Fox…the list goes on

It also takes money out of the pocket of that rat Rich Paul and tarnishes his reputation.

Win win?

I hope the first reasonable offer they get, they move on. Ben is prob an okay guy, but he is just soft as they come and buckled under his bad play. I hope they get a decent return and get back to putting pieces around Joel, Tobias, Maxey, and whoever else. Once we get a good offer, get Ben out of here, we can focus on our actual team, and stop worrying about a guy who can’t score outside the paint. Great defender and great in transition, but he is what he is. His words.

I think it’s more likely that the NBA would expand to 32 teams with Seattle and Vegas getting a team. More money for current owners to have 2 new teams buy in. Minn, NO, and Memphis would probably be candidates to move to the East to balance the conferences.
