I can't stand Jalen Brown, but he's had some ace games in this playoff run.

Our offense.

Harden or Embiid collapses the defense.

Harden or Embiid kicks it out to Maxey, Green and Tobias who are stationary.

Defense recovers and close them out. They attack close out.

Im not saying it happens only to us and never against these two teams but I say our defense is really good at generating open looks but its predictable and it makes it easy for defense to recover

My observation from my second favorite team, the warriors.

This series explains why Warriors drafted Kuminga and Wiseman. The league is trending towards a big 4-5 duos and Warriors needs to replace Draymond.

The Celtics are really small in the frontcourt, though. Horford and Williams are like 6'8" - 6'9" tops. They just have really big wings.

76iology, who would you rather have at C if you were building a team: Myles Tuner or Joel Embiid?

Our defensive spine is continuously being compromised and guys are scrambling all over the floor giving up layups and corner 3's.

I'm not sure if this is to accommodate Thybulle's ball hawk skillset, or because we're trying to funnel everything into Joel Embiid because we believe it gives us the best chance at generating a stop.

We had a top 5 defense just last year, playing lots of Tobias, Furkan, and exclusively drop defense. Milwaukee built a top 5 defense on drop coverage. Yes, we had another elite defender, but he didn’t exactly hang his hat on grit and physicality.

We should avoid recency bias just because the current teams in the finals switch a lot. There are a lot of ways to build a winning defense.

The difference between last year and the years going forward, is that we had a hyperactive 6'10 generational defensive monster that could guard 1-5 seamlessly and mask our fundamental deficiencies on that end. He was also replaced by 33 year old James Harden.

Now James Harden is obviously going nowhere, his offensive prowess is irreplaceable. That applies to Tyrese Maxey as well. The way to insulate those two is by ramping up the athleticism, switchability and rebounding from the forward slots.

The Bucks have also massively underperformed with Bud's drop coverage schemes. They won a chip because of their elite offense. Not grading out with a top 10 defense in consecutive seasons with Giannis, Jrue, Brolo, Khris, Tucker and Portis at his disposal is shockingly bad. Switching is the way.

Lucky to win 2 games against the Celtics with Embiid healthy when the Sixers took a Heat team that took them to 7 games down to the final second, to 6 games, with an injured Embiid who couldn't shoot or dribble and missed 2 games of the series.

Right.

True. Love him or hate him, Draymond and occasionally Steph keep the finals somewhat entertaining. Objectively speaking (and not just because I hate them), the Celtics (much like the Spurs before them) are a boring team personality-wise save for the occasional Smart altercation.

Imagine how entertaining a Sixers-Warriors finals would be with Embiid and Draymond going at it. Hint...hint...take note NBA and Silver.

Even a Heat-Warriors series would be more entertaining than this.

It’s sadly hilarious how much better Boston is as a sports town than us, despite us being essentially the same city and market.

They pretty much do the opposite of all the terrible things our management does.

Side note: How much will the national media criticize Boston fans for chanting "**** you Draymond" during last night's game? I'm guessing very little if any. Now imagine if it were Philly fans who did the same thing.

I personally blame ownership for allowing the league to run Hinkie out of town which led to the disastrous Colangelo-Brown-Brand era.

we simply made too many wrong decisions. Boston did as well..but we often doubled down on ours whereas they moved off of them (although not always by choice lol).

Kyrie is one of my favorite players...dude is a headcase that we probably would have cowtowed to and kept his flakey ass around at all costs. Boston while I imagine they wanted to keep him...did not and have benefitted from it. We moved off of Jimmy....and well yeah.

it be like that I guess...but I wish we ended up on the other side for once.

Philly doesn't cheat, that's really the only difference, honestly. Even yesterday the Warriors at shootaround had their nets raised too high. Always something with that town trying to cheat their way. At least Philly teams do it legitimately.

Like not at all. The one article I read was mostly praising the 'raucous' atmosphere.

If it happened here it would be a topic on every hack sports radio and TV show in the country.

The town itself, meaning the fanbase, is no better than ours. The management of the teams is in a different solar system than what we've been saddled with here. And I wonder if that POS Silver would have done the same thing to the Celtics if they were 'Processing' the same way we were. I'd bet heavily against it.

For some reason the Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins have been able to go through rough patches and then do the things necessary to get back to the top of the mountain. The Pats were on a different level than any sports organization anywhere.

Here, we had the best team in baseball for four years, got one title out of it, then have imploded ever since. The Sixers had the most positive asset situation an organization could ever dream of having, and with the help of the league and some awful hires have all but schiitted it away. The Flyers are a mess, and the Eagles will have Howie Roseman running things until he dies.

That dirtbag Auerbach did it for years with that schiithole they used to play in, with the dead spots on the floor and turning the heat on against the Lakers, among other things.
