What makes anyone think Doc would play Vanderbilt?

If one of them is about to acquire KD.
And you would need to trade Tobi, Maxey and 2029 1st to beat the offer, do you do it?
We cannot beat any of the packages those teams can throw at the Nets, so no point in the question. Maxey, Tobias and a first is worse than the best package those teams can offer.
Same with the Heat or the Suns

Most probably yes.
But if Nets will hand over KD to you with Maxey, Tobi and a first, would you do it?

If we could get KD for that, it would be a steal of a century lol, what's even to talk about?76ciology wrote:More interesting for me is if Celts, Nuggets, Pels or Grizzlies will do an “all in” move and target Nets or Raps players like FVV, OG, Siakam, Kyrie or KD.

KD can easily replace Tobi. Shake plays 6th man. And maybe we ask for Seth or Day’ron Sharpe as throw in?
Personally, I would want to hold unto our team right now. But I think it would be prudent to explore this type of scenario if there’s a possibility KD will end up to one of these contenders

All this talk about teams interested in Thybulle is the very reason why we shouldnt trade him...

I don’t believe Tobi, Maxey and 1 st is enough to get Durant, but if it is it’s a no brained. You charter a jet to pick up Durant.

Re: Sixers trade deadline thread - Feb. 9th.
KD ain’t the sharpest tool in the shed but if he wants a legit shot at it then he should definitely consider going to us.
He listed us as one of the top destinations awhile ago when he wanted out. Sooner or later he has to realise he tugged his rope to the wrong person. It was always Harden that was the rock at the Nets. Dude legit soloed 12-1 when KD/Irving was injured or walkabouts.
Dead serious can’t hurt to contact him directly. Who cares about media/outside noise. Double down and **** it end up with as many chips as Lebron people forget quick lol.
Also Pels are nosediving and Ingram is a serious player.

At this point i expect this result also from a traded Thybulle, Reed, maybe springer... heck Korklord may make a resurgence under another coach

Naz Reid is versatile enough to play the four as well as the five spot. You could play him and Joel together. Naz can also create his own shot or be a solid pick and roll option with Harden

It’s much harder to bury a young player that proven he’s a useful NBA player. Doc’s move is to bury homegrown talent so they never get a chance to prove their worth, which he then uses to validate his decision to not play them.

Definitely a rational fear. I feel like all four of them are or can be very solid players in this league when given consistent minutes. I can see Korkmaz on a team like the Sun's or Mavs having a resurgence. Put Reed on a bad team where he gets to play and he's going to average 15/9 and it's Christian Wood all over again. Thybulle suddenly figuring out a consistent three somewhere else would be great for him and extremely depressing for us. Springer CAN play in this league as well. I don't think even in the limited time we've seen him that anyone can deny that.
I didn't like what Brett Brown did once he started making roster decisions, but he at least wasn't afraid to play the young guys and give them a chance.
If we're going to make a move at the deadline, it needs to be for a player that is still relatively young. It's why I like the idea of Vanderbilt. I think we can stomach giving up assets to get him because he's still an ascending player.
I'm in no way trying to overvalue our young players, I just think we need to be cautious this time around. Even with Morey in the fold, I don't fully trust him to make the right trade although he really hasn't made a bad one yet.

Yup. And he's actually lowkey great in the open court. For being a shorter, powerfully built guy, he's actually a fluid athlete with great handle. Look at all the coast to coast dunks in this video.
