Sixers next year need to be a salary dump roster. I'm not an expert on how it works, but sign whoever helps them take on bad contracts to gain draft choices.
Unfortunately private equity ownership means they need an ROI, and they have already gone through one Process. They will be signing Harris, Heild, Maxey and whoever else helps them sell tickets by being a play-in team.

Solid idea, but there aren't many players left who their team would pay to dump.

However even if there were... a team with Embiid cannot essentially try and tank. Dude is too good, and they don't own their pick as it is anyway (unless they were horrible, but again Jo himself prevents that).

Only Kelly (after these play-offs) is a keeper to me. I guess he will get the MLE

Melton would be my other, but only if he's healthy enough.
Otherwise, Kelly would be the only one I would retain.

Melton has had back issues for a couple years running. That’s really tough to come back on. Tobias was inconsistent even before he went out this year and never really came back. We all like BBall, but it feels like he really was unable to take advantage of a great chance this season. Going to have to pay Kelly. Maybe Buddy. Hope to squeeze another year out of Nic, reduced $ for reduced minutes from Kyle. A really good 2nd center, and Nurse is going to have to deal with evaluating and rotating young talent.

I think we have a 2-years window with Embiid, after that, as much as I love him (a ton), it's better for him and for us to split.

So, I'd love to see one more Butler/Biid run.
I'd trade future picks for Jimmy's 50M contract. I'd resign Oubre and Maxey with the bird rights and I'd try to find out a vet shooting wing with our 2024 pick.

The rest is depth. Maybe resign Melton and Batum

The Sixers might have to renounce some of these guys. It all depends on the price. Hield, Oubre, Batum, and Melton I would have interest in at the right price. Lowry maybe.

Hield is washed up. I don’t understand why anyone wants him back.
He’s borderline worth the minimum.

I'm all for resigning Oubre, Batum, and Payne if they are cheap deals.

Agree. I think it's also important to bring back guys who are familiar, like Joel mentioned after elimination, each year it's new guys at training camp. How can we expect to go far when our coach and star players needed to acclimate to new teammates each season?
