Idk I just struggle to see what kind of distraction it would cause honestly. I don’t doubt that a few articles would be written before the season starts/when the signing happens, but do people really think reporters are going to ask “So Joel how do you feel about Bridges beating his wife?” after a regular season game in November? It’s not going to happen.
Also, winning cures all, especially in a city like Philadelphia. If Bridges is doing well and the team is winning he will be embraced by most. Now if he gets a big contract and pulls a Tobi that will obviously be a different story, but the distraction part of it will also be the least of our worries
