So the Lakers aren't going to punt this year, they need bigs. Drummond or Yabu?
They'll probably get Myles Turner, because.... Lakers

Lol you are clueless if you prefer flopping for calls and whines to refs 100% of the time. Real Sixers fans would take Embiid all day long cause he plays. 1st team defense unlike King Whiner.Wilfried wrote:NYSixersFan wrote:WTF are the Mavs doing?

The Dallas/LAL trade is the biggest sham made for TV trade of all time. There’s no way that any GM would agree to that. Therefore it had to be Silver demanding LA.

Luka just made the Finals? I mean, if Joel had made the Finals once he would take very little grief. Look at Iverson for the perfect example of how that goes.Talk about a guy who was impossible to build around, didn’t practice, and lacked professionalism… he is on a pedestal around here based on one Finals run.
Anyway, this entire league lacks seriousness.

I doubt it had anything to do with the commissioner.

Bizarre trade. AD ia a great player, but hes 32 and injury prone. Luka may be lazy but hes a great player and 25( he was on the finals last year). Lakers got their star for the next 10 years...

LOL
Hola Los Angeles, Como Estas??!
Story Time - skip if not interested -
There are few sporting things that really have shocked me... Let's see... I can remember staying at a friend's house in May 1998, end of Jr. Year of HS, and his parents had been gone and he had a party. We had a good time, woke up Saturday morning, and someone had SportsCenter on and was like "SAMSON, GET IN HERE, THE METS GOT *PIAZZA*!!!" - and nobody could believe it (especially since Piazza had only been traded a week before?) - it was pretty surprising for a 17yr old. We got Mike f'in Piazza?!?!!
I'm a Jets fan, and I was 19, taking some time off from Penn State, and I had to work Tuesday morning, and I shut the TV off in disgust and missed the Monday Night Miracle... (IIRC the Jets were losing 30-7 in the 4th and I went to bed. They scored 30 straight and kicked a FG in overtime to win.) ... Couldn't believe it when I got to work and all the people were like DUDE WHAT A GAME!!! and I was like, what?? They were all like, Don't tell us you went to bed! I was like, Dudes, I went to bed!! FML.
I can remember being shocked ~4 months later, back at school , when we got Mutombo. It might have even been announced on my birthday. History seems to record it as the day after, but I can distinctly remember getting ready for a party that night, borrowing a bro's laptop and just checking the news & sports before getting in the shower and being like OH SNAP WE GOT DEKE!!! (which paired the leagues leading Scorer & Stealer with the leagues leading Rebounder & Blocker... if only we didn't have to run into Shaq & Kobe, having been through 3 brutal Series before-hand - does anyone remember the absolute *pounding* AI took day-in/day-out every single game, and popped right back up???)
Later that year, I can remember firing up ESPN.com on the family computer and seeing the lead article: "Flyers Sign Roenick" and cheering loudly, HOLY #, WE GOT JR??! But any good Flyers fan will know, there's a ton of famous Flyers acquisitions etc. to think back on ... Bobby Clarke used to eat up trades like Chicken Chow Mein, and his successor Homer was even worse maybe. Anyone remember The Eric Lindros Stages Of Grief? 1- *DON'T* TRADE ERIC LINDROS!!! He's *THE NEXT ONE!!!* .... 2-I think we might have a real Lindros problem... 3-OK Yeah, we are definitely going to need to get rid of Eric Lindros... 4-WHEN TF ARE YOU GOING TO GET RID OF LINDROS??! 5-Finally, we traded Eric Lindros... We gave him away, to the Rangers of all teams , for NOTHING, but at least it's over & done with, let's go have a drink & get something to eat... <if only we had had the foresight to trade *Lindros* for Primeau instead of Rod the Bod... and that was what they actually asked for, Clarke <probably right -at the TIME, without the benefit of knowing how bad it would become and how the skating-with-your-head-down-problem would really manifest itself...> turned them down flatly. It was a big enough deal to give you Rod Brind'amour for a thrice-disgruntled star, not getting Big E... but if... then... maybe?
*ANYWAY* ...
Waking up this morning and seeing that Dallas traded Luka to *THE LAKERS* of all people , for a dude who forced his way out of his original team , using the exact LeBron playbook that he himself instructed Ben Simmons to use ... lol. A little Sunday Morning laughter, and I didn't even have to buy a newspaper & find the comics.
And I'll end with, my new favorite person is CJ freaking McCollum , who's apparent twitter reaction was: " gotta pack them bags nowadays, if The Don got traded, Lord only knows..."

AD is 31 and hasn't been injured prone for 3 seasons now. Saying AD is injured prone is same as saying Steph Curry is injured prone during his first 3 years in the league.sodmoraes wrote:Bizarre trade. AD ia a great player, but hes 32 and injury prone. 3 years? He played 56 games in 22-23...
He was healthy last year, and has been this year (though, ironically, is currently injured).

Ah, but Dallas never lost on purpose and told its fanbase to "trust the process" that it would result in a championship -- consequently they weren't overvaluing the player to legitimize themselves and their "process" for their fans.

Anthony Davis left tonight’s game with an “Abdominal Strain”
The fact that they called it a strain already is concerning. Timeline to return is dependent on severity

14 mins of AD injuries going back from a year ago. Probably 16 mins now.
Scouts described him as “unprepared to answer certain questions,” and his response to a question about his strengths and weaknesses—“I ain’t got no weaknesses and I got more than two strengths big dawg”

Something is fishy.
The fact that no rumors got out and that the Mavs approached the lakers and no other team?
You’re telling me them getting a 32 year old AD and a first is the best they could get?
Not Devin Booker or Donovan Mitchell? I feel like either one could have been had and are better options than AD.

That's about like asking if you'd trade Christian McCaffrey for Josh Allen.

KIDD wanted AD to win the ship in secret otherwise they just get the highest bidder which LAL would not be involved and the commissioner would veto it like the prime CP3 trade long ago but is now kept in the dark as well.Iscull wrote:the_process wrote:The Dallas/LAL trade is the biggest sham made for TV trade of all time. I’ve always thought Luka was overrated, he’s a fatty boombatty, but Davis is one of the most overrated players ever. Soft, can’t shoot, gets tossed around in the paint on defense. You’d think just off reputation alone Doncic could get more. I mean, Gobert was overrated too and how many picks did he fetch. And the fact that the Mavs called the Lakers directly and didn’t even shop Doncic around for a bidding war?
It’s pretty obvious what’s going on. Silver is so desperate he was recently quoted saying maybe the NBA changes the quarters from 12 minutes to 10. NBA ratings are tanking. Then a box office player gets traded to the Lakers.
And people wonder why no one likes the NBA anymore. Teams can get box office players gifted to them simply by existing while other franchises don’t get one in 20 years.
