The way I see it, we’re playing our top guys because we want Embiid to adjust to his “new normal,” where he doesn’t seem fully confident in his surgically repaired knee. At the same time, we’re trying to get the team used to the fact that Embiid isn’t the same constant presence on defense—where, at times, it feels like they’re playing 4 or 4.5 defenders instead of 5.

If all else fails, I’d want Embiid to go from trying to emulate Jokic last season to just playing like Brook Lopez—spotting up for threes (if he has to take long 3s then so be it) and focusing on defense. No iso, no playmaking, except in crunch time or when we desperately need offense—kind of like Duncan in his last few seasons.

the bad part is that it requires you to have a Tony Parker / Kawhii / Giannis tho. Maxey is great but he himself also requires someone to set up his off ball work. We just fumbled too many assets to get that at this stage sadly.
