I dont think Dallas would even take Miller for Harris. I know I wouldn't- if I was Dallas.

I'd trade Miller and Utah's #1 pick for Harris!! I might even trade Iggy for Harris

how much do you know about Harris??? The kid is really good, locked in for 5yrs under what Iggy wants and he's a PG who can penetrate and shoot.

and I said I MIGHT..... i'd have to think about it.

im not sure what makes Iggy so fantastic. we still got THAD at the #3 and SG's who cant shoot are all across the league, and much easier to get in the draft!!

but Miller for Harris id do any second of the day--- AND i'd throw in the Utah pick we got for Korver.

Miller I would do for Harris, but for Iggy? Don't get me wrong Harris is good, but let's not forget he plays with Dirk, Jason Terry, and Josh Howard. At least we know what Iggy is capable when he is the loner on the team. Give Harris this same team with NO Iggy or Miller I don't know how good Harris will be. I think he is one of those players who's more successful when you surrond him with talent. I'm already impressed with what Iggy can do alone with not a lot of help.

My point is that if Kidd falls thru, DAL takes an psychological risk keeping Harris. May be nothing, may be something.

They get "Kidd-light" (saving $16M thru 2009) and can keep their two 1st round picks.

If Cuban feels he can't stand pat, that's not too bad a deal (at least as a starting point).

My feeling is, if DAL makes no moves by Thurs., they may not get out of the 1st round. Again.

I'd want Bass or a first also.
Don't worry, that builds character and you can never have too much character...

It'll be interesting if Dallas stays put or tries to make another move. I've said this all along, but if Dallas calls Stefanski and offer Harris and filler for Miller... he has to pull the trigger.

Kidd is being aquired because of his name. So even though Miller is having just as good of a season, Dallas wouldn't even think about trading a very good young player like Harris for him.

According to ESPN the Jason Kidd trade is back on with the deal now being the following..

TO DAL: Kidd and Allen
TO NJN: Harris, Diop, Ager, Hassell, Van Horn, 2 first round picks, $3 MIL cash

KVH will sign a $4MIL deal which will NOT be prorated and mean that he will receive all $4MIL even though we're now past the All-Star break. He has to report to NJ and take a physical.

What is Dallas doing?? George gave them a chance to wake up and realize that what a bad deal this is. Jason Kidd *might* have a year and half left in that body.

Really, it's just a Kidd for Harris deal. Dallas is going into win now mode...and they probably do need to. Dirk and Howard are great, but the club has been at this level for a long time and need to take a shot. Not sure how Kidd fits or upgrades their club, but he's averaging nearly a triple double and is better than Harris at this time.

The Western conference playoffs are going to be very interesting this year. Dallas, LAL, SA, and Phoenix are all so close and Denver, GS, Utah and Houston could win a series shocker as well. This post season could be a great one.

the Kidd deal is going to get done... BUT how does anyone on this board think that Andre Miller would get us anything in addition to Harris???

It confuses me?? we would not be getting Diop or Ager or anything.

seriously-- we might need to give up a pick!

Because Miller is better than Kidd right now and he costs less?

Dallas is trading for a name.

I totally disagree that Miller is better. J Kidd is def on the downside of his career, but he's still better than Miller especially for Dallas. (maybe not for the 76ers) but absolutely for Mavs...

Dallas' whole system ever since Avery got there has been walk the ball up and do isos. That's a terrible fit for Kidd.

I agree with Sixerscan... Dallas is trading for a name hence I think this is a big mistake for the Mavs. When are the two picks to be given up?? '09 and '11? If so, that '11 pick has a chance to be something decent.

Dallas are absolutely nuts to do this trade, they are trading half their roster for an old guy...basically a pissing match going on in the Western Conference and Cuban doesn't want to lose.

Agree...the tempo fit is bad, and I think a more slow tempo PG (like Miller) is a better fit in NJ as well. Harris is a mis fit there, but they apparently want to rebuild around him and change the whole face of the franchise. Will be tough to deal Carter, but I'm sure they are trying.

According to Chris Sheridan of espn (a bag of douche), there are a lot of rumors flying around down in NOLA with one of the hottest ones being Jermaine O'Neal going to Nets before the deadline. I guess the Nets would be sending Carter to Indiana which makes little sense given where Vince is in his career and where the Pacers are as a team. Then again, JOB loves people who play little D and jack up 23 footers so Vince is a fit.

Also, the Warriors are supposedly the second busiest team on the phones next the Nuggets. It'll be interesting to see if GSW deals it's $9.9 MIL TE from the Richardson deal or Brandan Wright.
