If there is competition we will need to sweeten the pot. I doubt Green has much trade value on his own, but he's the guy we will want them to take to make it work.

I figure whomever we trade to get as our 3rd star (next to Thad and Dala) we will have to send away our Utah #1, and young player and another #1. Two number ones and a prospect seems to be the going rate for a star these days.

I don't want to send them Carney or Smith...

It'll be interesting to see how things play out this summer. If we can somehow get to the magic $13MIL number... then perhaps Okafor comes into the picture again.

As for tonight... I love that the Blazers are taking it to the Wizards. On the other hand, did anyone see that Karl Malone... errr Drew Gooden had yet another monster game?? Tonight it was 31 and 16 but if you look at his numbers since the trade, the man has been playing at an All-Star level. Who knew???

ahh okay you're thinking in terms of trades, i was thinking pure salary. i agree i'd like to keep carney and smith but they aren't dealbreakers.

maybe all pf's leave cleveland and become monsters. boozer now this?

That Boozer move killed the Cavs for years to come. I can't believe I'm saying this- but poor Lebron...

We will have to make a sign and trade to get Brand. Our only other way to get more cap space would be to renounce Iguodala or sign him top a 1 year tender- which would be to big of a risk for both parties.

Even with our later 1st we still won't be able to start at more than 11M, which with raises I believe is about 5yrs/67M (13M average), which won't get it done.

Seriously... Gooden has always had the talent to be a top-level PF in the league but the guy just never put it together (brains being a major question). But since this past trade, it's as though he suddenly "got it" and has been playing strong basketball. I'll be interested to see him tomorrow night against the Sixers. Of course, it's hard to be a Gooden fan since the man has some of the most (Please Use More Appropriate Word) hair styles in the league. Last year it was the back patch, this year he's in a competition (no joke) with DeShawn Stevenson to see who can go the longest with their beard. Both of them look shabby as all hell.

Blazers are up 22 in the 3rd... Wow!

Is Baron Davis in on that competition?

I'm sure the Bulls will be looking for some payback. Hopefully the home crowd deflates tham a bit. Gooden was pretty fierce against us last game too. He was killing us with his high post game.

well it's the only logical way.

however, if we phoenix suns'ed our draft picks we could get him
(we are at 10,648,050.50 including draft picks and cap holds.) it is very dependant on what the cap is set at. this is estimated at 58,125,005.50

Blazers are up 16 going into the 4th. Unless a colapse happens, it looks like we'll be only a half-game out of fifth entering tomorrow night's game. However, the Wizards are in Seattle tomorrow night and I doubt that they lose that one.

That is a creative way to clear cap space, our #1 will make about 1.5M. But I can't imaging we would really sell a top 18 pick- but maybe as part of a trade? Seems like being a Sixers fan will be interesting year round. Playoffs, Free Agency, Resigning our own players, Summer League... and then Football.

yeah thats why the trade is the only logical way, also whats the deal with herb hill is he guaranSheed salary next year? cause if not we could get rid of him and trade calvin booth and have enough to sign brand if the salary cap figure is placed in a rather friendly manner. like a ~mil-3/4mil more than what i said before.

( yeah no one wants booth but maybe our friends w/ benifits relationship w/ utah continues and they'll take that ugly sob.)

Unless Memphis wants Booth, we would have to take equal salary back in any trade (of a tema that is not under the cap.)

3/26 Updated standings:
Great night, with both Washington and Atlanta losing. We are now closer to having home court than having the 8 seed.

4.Cleveland........15.5
5.Washington.....19
6.Philadelphia....19.5
7.Toronto..........20
8.Atlanta..........25
9.New Jersey.....25.5

I am amazed at how fast we picked up ground. Two weeks ago number 5 seed was not even part of the conversation- and 2 months ago number 7 seed referred to our lottery positioning.

Who says its only fun to watch a contender. I'm enjoying the ride.

Cleveland's remaining schedule:

New Orleans
@ Detroit
Philadelphia
@ Charlotte
Chicago
Orlando
New Jersey
@ Chicago
Miami
@ Philadelphia
Detroit

Philadelphia's remaining schedule:

Chicago
Phoenix
@ Cleveland
@ New Jersey
@ Atlanta
Atlanta
Detroit
Indiana
@ Washington
Cleveland
@ Charlotte

I hate to jump the gun and overook Washington and everything, but I think we have a pretty decent shot at the 4th seed. I think the only way it will happen though is if we beat Cleveland both times we play them, which will be relatively tough.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards

5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter and the Sonics are up 4 over the Wizards. Let's pray for a miracle.
