Although Smith might have deeper range, Speights and Brand both have the ability to hit jumpers from the long end of mid-range and both have more varied offensive games than Smith. I still think Smith was going to be a good player this year and it always hurts to lose a good player, but my biggest concern is Speights getting over-exposed on D early in the season. Not that Smith was a stellar defender, but he had a year's experience in the league and was never fazed by things that didn't go his way last year. He and Thad are both very mentally tough. Since the area of mental toughness is a big question mark for Speights, I would like to see the team pick up a defender like Theo as the primary replacement for Smith. Since I think they do need a second, younger big guy to fll out the roster I would not oppose trying to find someone who can shoot to fill that role.

If you play Speights at PF for 12-14 minutes I think a lot of your worries will go away. He will have more trouble defensively at center. Hopefully Theo is on the way.

According to Jasner:

Sixers contacted Theo. Sources say he has better offers on the table than the Sixers, but he is extremely interested in the Sixers.

Nice to see that Ratliff is interested. He would be my first pick.

i doubt he's reading this but calling hiim "rat" is going to get you no where. By the way intersting note about Ratliff when he was at Wyoming, my old roomate here in Jackson, WY claimed that Theo stole his girlfriend, while he went to school there, thats how he kows theo. prettyweird way to be startstruck. or lower tier starstruck

Maybe the 76ers can hook up Theo with a DJ job at WRNB in the off season as the kicker for coming here. Come on Theo it will give you plenty of time to sit and talk to Lady B. :D :)

I'd love to see Ratliff back with the Sixers. It would also be interesting to see Dalembert and Ratliff playing side by side.

Ratliff and Dalembert standing side to side would still not be as wide as one Eddy Curry.

Hey, Robert Traylor is trying to get back into the league. It would be awesome if he signed with the Knicks. Would there be anything better than watching Curry at C and Traylor at PF? I guess maybe watching Curry at C and Randolph at PF. Maybe they can bring Ledell Eackles out of retirement.

That is if he's still alive.
