that team should win 50 games. And that's why they did.
I love that laimbeer has come into the mix.
I like what I've heard from blazer fans about Williams, alot of them would rather keep Jim than mcmillian
C-Al Horford C-Samuel Dalembert
PF-Josh Smith PF-Elton Brand
SF-Marvin Williams SF-Thaddeus Young
SG-Joe Johnson SG-Andre Iguodala
PG-Mike Bibby PG-Jrue Holiday.
Battle of the Guards: Bibby VS Holiday.
Bibby's an old man whose career is just about as done as the Hawks will be on Monday. He can hit the 3 ball occasionally, but that's it. Compared to Jrue Holiday, whose tall at 6'4. He can finish with his off hand, contrary to naysayers he's very athletic. He's quick, he has great court vision and is an excellent fast-break point guard. If there's one thing we can thank EJ for besides the pick, it's that Holiday developed off-the-ball much quicker then anyone would've anticipated.
Sixers: 1, Hawks :0.
So OMG, I think there's a position we're better then them in.
Battle of the Guards part 2: Johnson VS Iguodala.
Admittedly, this one goes to Johnson. Although Iguodala would make it close by cutting turnovers and playing the kind of aggressive D he did in his rookie/sophomore year.
Sixers: 1, Hawks: 1
Battle of the Forwards: Williams VS Young.
I can't wait, because many Sixers fans have complained about Thaddeus Young. How would you like to have drafted Marvin Williams #2 overall? Williams has declined so fast he had as bad of a year as Mike Bibby. It's almost laughable when someone wrote an article "what would the market be for Marvin Williams". The market be for Marvin Williams? The question should be rephrased "would we even get a FIRST for Marvin Williams?" Needless to say, his horrific season makes it so that comparing to Young's down season is stupid. Comparing him to Young as a player is stupid.
Sixers: 2, Hawks: 1
Battle of the Forwards, Part 2: Smith VS Brand.
Josh Smith has the theoretical advantage, in the fast break. But none else. Smith has no jumper, he has no handles. He's not really going to drive it in on Elton Brand. He's a more athletic, vastly inferior Shawn Marion. That's it. Sure, the weakside blocks are nice. Especially with Horford. But too bad a 6'8 tweener in Smith couldn't possibly box out Elton Brand or any other legitimate big for that matter.
Brand on the other hand can hit the 15 footer and he can attack a Smith in the post. This match-up could be said to be a wash. Especially if the Hawks have trouble getting out on the break. So we'll give half a point to each.
Sixers: 2.5, Hawks: 1.5
Battle of the Centers: Horford VS Dalembert.
Al Horford is the lone consistent on the Hawks. Whether he's played at the 5 or the 4, he's legit at both positions. So frankly, he's only the 2nd player on the Hawks(the other is Johnson) that can play multiple positions and still fit. He's a great shotblocker, good rebounder. He's accumlating fouls like crazy in the Magic series because of the non existant front-court and back-court help. Sound familar?
Samuel Dalembert this year, has also been our lone consistant. He's been a great shotblocker, rebounder. He's had some amazing performances. But it was a matter of time when he gave up on this loser season as well. Half a point to each.
Final total: Sixers: 3, Hawks 2.
The Sixers rape at the PG, SF positions. Hawks Rape at the SG position and their PF and C's have advantages/disadvantages going for them.
