But I did think Reddick looks good shooting threes and jumpers in Philly white. Good fit there. Looking forward to see Fultz/Embiid/Simmons. Simmons didn't blow me away but I see the talent.

Think Simmons was being overly aggressive to begin the game, drew some fouls, but didn't shoot well from the line. Two offensive fouls/turnovers were disheartening in that first half.

Basically just seeing flashes to get excited about, obviously needs to improve on his scoring overall, though.

We need Simmons to keep taking outside shots when they are there regardless of if it goes in or not. These will be the growing pains we must go through until it becomes a weapon. The great news so far is that Simmons is taking that shot. I'm not concerned if it goes in at this point. Just keep taking them and work through it.

True. I’m just saying Simmons needs to finish better. He’s 6’10. He seems like a smart player so we shall see. I still like what I see from him. He just has to work on his free throws and shots within 6 feet.

There's no reason to doubt he will finish better eventually. He was an amazing finisher at LSU and those weird looking shots worked for him. I'm chalking up a good bit to rust + stepping up to NBA speed.

The freethrows, however, I'm not so confident.

Ehhh. He shot 67% from the line as a Freshman. If he can get that up to 70% as a rookie, he won't kill us.

Well we've all seen how much regular season matters to LBJ . We want playoff success.

It's gonna take time. Hayward doesn't know his role. Kyrie won't be the scoring champ because he plays under Brad Stevens. No Brad Stevens player leads the league in scoring because of his offense peppering passes around to different guys.

Isaiah Thomas sure came close to leading the league in scoring, in spite of Stevens' offense.

The ft% was a team wide problem. How many times have you seen a team shoot a higher 3pt% than Ft%....?

45.2 3p% (14/31)
41.7 Ft% (10/24)

I'd say that's an anomaly we'll probably never ever see again.

IT scored 29 ppg last year in the same offense. Westbrook won't score as much, because he has teammates now. Harden won't score as much, because Chris Paul will have the ball half the time. The Celtics will be in higher scoring games just because the defense won't be nearly as good.

The Cavs are going to make a joke out of the East this season and Washington, Toronto + Milwaukee have too much continuity to all finish behind the Celtics. The Celtics don't have a big enough talent gap (if any) over those teams to make up for the continuity.

I am seeing serious double standard here how come there are posters ragging on fulz for not playing 1 preseason game.. but is ok with embiid not playing for years ....
Fulz should be free to take a game off ...

But embiid needs at least 50 games and no season ending injury to be a success.

You guys need to start building a winning season. This season.

Preseason matters not on the win loss but on building chemistry and good habits ..
I bet nuggets will do better this year compared to last year.
If your guys are doing the right thing then the loss don't matter ...
But if they are making mistakes and it's not corrected will become a problem in regular season

I don't make statements based on Pre-season games. I make them based on the construction of the rosters and the coaches. On talent, the Celtics are not better than Washington or Milwaukee. Brad Stevens gives you a chance to beat out Washington though, because he's a 10x better coach than Brooks.

I'd rather have him read and react by taking whats the best option at given situation.

Nevertheless, I find him lacking a scorer and high impact defensive game.

You can see him on the court and he stands out in a way Jah or Noel never did. His game still needs work but his passing and speed are better then advertised. He is going to be a terror once he develops a J.

First of all: Fultz with a t.

Second, while I agree with your sentiment that Fultz shouldn't get ragged on for missing a worthless preseason game, the difference between a fractured/healing navicular is a different conversation than a sprained shoulder, or whatever is hurting him.

Am I the only one who's alarmed what we've seen from Simmons and Fultz?? Not impressed so far.

How?
Kyrie and Hayward > Wall and Beal
Horford > Porter
Our bench is better and our coach is too

Kyrie << Giannis
Hayward > Middleton
Horford > Brogdan?
And we have the bench and coach advantage

So how are they better on paper?
Bet with Stillwater Celtics will finish 6th or higher in ECF Standings Regular Season(17-18). [WON]
