Yeah, I'm a fan of Stanford, but I'm not sure why he's making it a point to always call fl311 out... Enough evidence to prove that his sources are real.

We rarely get insider sources, and I don't want to lose this one, and I'm sure others feel the same way.

I don't post here that much, but I don't like Stanford because of JJ Arcega-Whiteside.

Lol no idea what that means.

In the end the Rockets will need to get something with some potential. Tobias Harris or Levert plus some middling peaks is not that and if these were the best offers the Rockets might try to keep him until the deadline or next year. I doubt they could do worse than that and in any case these trades offer zero real value to Houston. There is nothing to lose there imo.

Even if the Sixers could make this trade, attaching every pick they have, i dont think it makes much sense. For one, the presence of Harden limits the ceiling of Simmins, as Harden will handle the ball. Simmons appeal comes mainly from his passing vision and ability to handle the ball. Without that you will get something like what you got when Butler was handling the ball (probably better but not by much)

On the other hand you would have no assets to further improve the team. You would have Simmons, Embiid and Harden as starters, Horford as a backup and then what? It doesnt sound like a winning combination to me.

At that point (when you get Harden) Simmons would be more valuable to other teams for the reason mentioned above and by trading Simmons we would still have all the picks to further improve the team and unload Horford for some useful roleplayers.

The Rockets are in a weird spot with all those picks they owe to the Thunder. The pick swap option they owe in '21 (the Thunder can swap their own or the Miami pick with them... Ooof) is protected 1-4, so if they were to REALLY bottom out, they could keep that pick. But they'd have a tough time finding suitors for Westbrook and Gordon in that process. Something that makes them semi-competitive around Westbrook while getting a ton of future picks may be attractive to them if they can't get a singular high end piece to be a franchise cornerstone for them. That said... I'd think future picks would look better to them coming from Brooklyn with their older core.

The "6th seed in the East" core? So you suggesting that Buddy and/or Jrue(who we don't have assets for either way) are elevating us from that to conder level? Ok.

This. They're sort of stuck and not able to properly tank and rebuild until after next year as they have virtually no shot to retain a top pick in 2021 unless it is top 4. That's harder to do now with the flattened lotto odds.

After 2021, the next 1st rounder they owe is in 2024, so they could rebuild after 2021. They could tank 2022 and 2023 and keep their picks no prob before owing OKC again in 2024 and 2026 (also swap in 2025).

For that reason what could make the most sense is selling on Harden now and keeping Westbrook with some win now pieces around him. Then maybe selling off Westbrook and everyone else in 2021 summer if they want to try to tank/rebuild then. Or if they're still competitive enough to make the playoffs perhaps Tilman just rolls with it. Not sure he has the stomach to rebuild with his other businesses hurting.

Jrue can be contained, as as a slightly above average player at getting his own shot. Buddy would be helpful, but again it could be a bigger issues in getting a last second shot... Harden solves so many problems for us. All in one player.

Tobias, Furky, Shake, 3 FRPs and Al for EG and Harden.

Russ, Shake/Furk, Cov, Tobias, Al

That’s a 6-8 seed. They pick up draft assets from us for a rebuild. Honestly makes more sense to me than a Dinwiddie, Levert, Allen trade.

Rox can trade Russ/Cov for additional assets if they decide to blow it up. I believe the Al contract is actually cheaper than the Gordon contract in the long term.

Okay give me Lavine then. I’m not risking trading Ben Simmons while he’s 24 years old and locked up from age 24-29. No chance

I hate to say it but IF we do have an offer that doesn’t include Ben, shake is going, Matisse is going, josh is going, okc first is going, 3 more firsts are going, and 3 swaps are going. Then they can take their pick of tobi or Al, or if they want us to take Gordon they can have both. It would take EVERYTHING else that we have

I’m cool with that.

Ben/Harden/Embiid trio is insane.

Interesting omission. With fl saying "Ben > any nets offer" it sort of sounds like a deal could be agreed upon as soon as Morey makes that offer, which hasn't happened (yet). I'm sure Houston would much rather that also.

I feel like the amount Morey loves Harden and envisioning what a Harden/Embiid duo would look like, he'll probably do it.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too... Time to stop trying to trade everything but the kitchen sink Daryl. Throw the kitchen sink. Give them Ben, or the Nets will get him...

I feel like whether Harden comes to Philadelphia or not is contingent on whether Morey is comfortable trading Ben. I guess we'll find out.

And for Harden, I mean you can join Kyrie and KD or you can join Embiid and Harris lol.

Fortunately Brooklyn can keep their big two together and that's much more appealing for a 31 year old who's desperately looking to win a ring.
