I really do get Manu Ginobili vibes from Harper. The way he splits defenders to get to the rim and his set shot style jumper. I don’t think he can match Manu’s creativity as a playmaker but there’s definitely some stylistic overlap.

Team will probably downplay it as a smokescreen. All the positive news will be about VJ so we can fleece the Hornets or someone else to move up.

Can’t let other teams know that Ace is the real target.

He literally criticized VJ pull up jumper using the stats that were actually for Kon's pull up jumper. In another podcast, he had us take CMB after trading with the Nets and making the statement, but if he can just learn to shoot!

Vecenie is a clown this draft cycle.

He wants to win. Like he is a he's a real like this guy is a crazy, crazy worker. Like, you know, one of the guys I've gotten in this class where it's like, no, like if you're going to bet on somebody to improve, bet on Tre Johnson because he's not going to quit working.

That's the other thing like, you know, I'm sure you guys watching the tape like Texas just didn't do anything for him off the ball. Like this dude is a lethal shooter. Like I watched him go through a workout in Santa Barbara and he sprinted off of actions for like an hour.

This dude did not get tired. He did not ever see like any sort of drop in terms of like the shot stopping falling. Like I told him after the workout, I was like, that was one of the most impressive workouts I've ever seen from a teenage shooter. This dude just goes and he goes hard and he is very well conditioned. And like he is all about hoops.

Like that's why I like when people bring up the defense, I'm like, yeah, like I think he is more focused on scoring right now. Like I think he wants to like maximize what he is as a scorer, it feels like to me.

But I think he'll figure it out. Like I think he wants to win so bad that like he'll eventually learn that like, OK, I can't just do this one way. Like I got to go both ways on this.

Ok. Now I like Vecenie again.

I laugh at his last hopeful statement. Apparently he didn't want to win yet while at Texas so that's why he didn't realize he had to play defense.

Is Bodner becoming an Ace evangelist?

Bodner for once considered Bailey's value as an off-ball creator. Shocking we're over a month since the lottery and he's JUST getting to this.

Bodner's high on Ace compared to most of the draft gurus. He's got him at like 5th or 6th on his board. Not sure how he was ever considered a hater (other than by irrational people)

You realize 695 minutes is about 22 games? You think Ace played a total of 22 games in 3 years of HS? Or that he took fewer free throws in 3 yrs than 1 yr of college?

Trade down with Charlotte so that they can take VJ.

Trade down again (stay in the top 8) with whichever bozo GM wants to give you a package for Ace.

Andre Miller in the sense they aren't the most athletic, but both could/can get anywhere they wanted on the court with their ballhandling and physiques. Both aren't the most prolific outside shooters, but Harper seems better than Miller. Miller was probably more assist oriented than Harper has shown to date.

Harper finishes really well around the basket with either hand. While Harper doesn't explode or have the athletic ability of prime Rose, they both finish around the basket and contort to get shots off. Rose was probably more spectacular with his finishes and contortions. Again neither is known for being a deadly marksman from the perimeter.

If Harper's floor is Andre Miller that's an occasional all star. If he is prime Derrick Rose, that's MVP caliber, at least back in the day. If he's in between Miller and Rose, that is a very nice player.

I was also thinking Deron WIlliams.

Here are the detailed stats for what they had anyway.

Cerebro is the standard for HS/EYBL statistics, they work hand in hand with the NCAA.

Of course they couldn't possibly authenticate everything, but that's what they have on record. HS kids play a lot of basketball in a lot of different gyms in front of crowds of varying sizes.

From what's been tracked, Ace Bailey shot 69% from the stripe in totality pre-college. Ace Bailey got to Rutgers and again shot 69% from the stripe. That's just who he is.

If you truly believe there's anti-Ace collusion at play here and that he's secretly a 95% free throw shooter, outside of the ~2000 minutes of verifiable HS/EYBL/NCAA data... it's your life.

Can't track everything, but 695 minutes is just 22 total games and H.S. plays about 30 games a season. I mean, even you can get that something's off with these "stats."

Also, I searched for best stat site and funny but Cerebro didn't ping as the top, MaxPreps did and it reported Ace being a 80's range free throw shooter in H.S.

I guess I was wrong, Ace wasn’t affected by the crowd size, he was just shooting his avg from FT.

That site has Ace taking 62 total free throw attempts in FOUR YEARS of high school ball.

Only ADS afflicted can take that misinformation seriously.
