I think we have to chear that hinkie dont catch this guy but he is a nice surprise at all.
Hinkie took the best player on the board, did jackson tried to ship porzingis to us? I think yes.

Welcome to the board! I agree that Porzingis was a fine pick by the Knicks, I don't understand why the draftniks were saying that he supposedly can't contribute right away, he's thin, but he's a shooter and those ridiculously long appendages will allow him to do some things.
Sixerscan wrote:CharlesOakleeey wrote:MRxBLACK wrote:^Exactly this. Hinkie took Okafor because he thought he was BPA, not to squeeze NY's next 1st round pick in 2032 out of them.
I mostly agree with this.
Hinkie wanted what he thought was BPA. That's definitely fine and good. But I think grabbing the Knicks guy was definitely an added incentive for Hinkie to grab him. At some point, these teams will be battling for spots in the Atlantic (what a thought ha!) and screwing each other in some way should be an incentive.
Not sure why Philly doesn't get as much love from FAs honestly. But the draft is Philly's way to amass talent. So, yes, BPA was the predominant reason for pick IMO.
Well hold up. Do you think the TWolves drafted Towns in part because the Lakers wanted him? The Lakers Russell because the Sixers wanted him? The Knicks Porzingis b/c of the Magic?
Sure, the Sixers are "screwing" you in the sense that they aren't passing on who they think is the best player available, but that's just what the draft is. The Sixers want the best collection of talent, and I guess that technically means that the other 29 teams have less talent, but i don't really think that's at all a concern.
I love New York City, but the this is classic NYC entitlement. Everything is about them.
Also, he's not the Knicks guy, he's the Sixers' guy.

I realy dont like this, but i dont know J Grant so much. Did he so better than the Grant we already have?

Jerian Grant is a PG and actually Jerami Grant's older brother, he's quite good and I would have loved to of acquired him if we could have moved up in the draft. However, regarding the trade, with the uncertainty surrounding Embiid I believe we're fine sitting pat with Okafor and figuring out what to do later.

That aside, I think you got a potentially great player. Even though I wanted Russ, I was resigned to the fact that the Lakers were picking Jah up, so I watched a ton of videos, researched stats on him, etc. He was the expected #1 pick since High School (not sure if that started just his senior year, or if it was even before that). People have had a lot of time to criticize him, but he basically stayed as the #1 consensus guy till about 4-5 months before the draft. It's a big deal to have those kinds of expectations, and to then be able to live up to them.
He obviously had an injury in February, but before that he showed a lot more athleticism/explosiveness. You see a lot of finesse, and laying the ball in near the rim, but earlier in the year (before the injury) he was dunking all of them. I've seen him even run the floor and outrun smaller guys for transition buckets. He also can put the ball up very quickly when he's in the post. He just grabs the entry pass and goes right up and shoots over the guy guarding him. His mid-range bank shot is money. Also, what is very impressive is that you can see that he has a dominant attitude when he plays. After a lot of big plays, he will scream/yell, and just get really hyped. Also, the fact that he shot 65%, and he's not a Deandre Jordan/Tyson Chandler type who pretty much ONLY dunk the ball, is very impressive.

They mad and they not the cream of the crop either. Pretty sad display for their respective fan bases.
Its a nice change though. There are currently 5 active post on the GB about the 76ers. If you been a fan or been around Real GM for some time, that never used to happen. We were one of the most irrelevant teams in all of sports.

You realize there's a table where he drops the jersey?
For the rest i agree with you, to be honest the Wolves and Lakers made a BIG mistake passing on the Oak. Imo even Towns doesn't have the value Okafor has. 76ers got very very lucky, now time to win and stop tanking no more excuses.
