The celtics have way more talent than last year. Not sure why people think they will be worse. Jaylen Brown looks better and they have Jayson Tatum now as well. They will also have one of the best benches in league.

Just watched the replay..

Ben Simmons needs to get closer to the rim and learn to finish with his left. He also has to play with better impact on D.

The way I see it, Simmons should be tertiary option on offense while we really need Fultz to be a star caliber perimeter scorer.

Justin Anderson played well. Hope he can sustain it.

Nice to see our 3s keeping us in the game against probably the 2nd best perimeter talent in the east

Celts defensive gameplan was to clog the paint and make it a 3pt shooting game where they know they have the edge in perimeter talent with Kyrie and Hayward.

Okafor played well. Hard not to root for a guy who gives out effort. Best scorer and big for the past two games?

I expect Roco to be more consistent with his shooting

Jaylen Brown sucks

Kyrie is good

Hayward is average

I don't make statements based on Pre-season games. I make them based on the construction of the rosters and the coaches. On talent, the Celtics are not better than Washington or Milwaukee. Brad Stevens gives you a chance to beat out Washington though, because he's a 10x better coach than Brooks.

How?
Kyrie and Hayward > Wall and Beal
Horford > Porter
Our bench is better and our coach is too

Kyrie << Giannis
Hayward > Middleton
Horford > Brogdan?
And we have the bench and coach advantage

So how are they better on paper?

Wall, Beal, Porter and Gortat are = to Kyrie, Hayward, Smart and Horford, IMO. Wall is a better player than Kyrie. The Wizards have continuity. The Celtics have the better coach.

Giannis >> Kyrie. Hayward > Middleton. Horford > Monroe. Brogdon, Snell and a healthy Parker are as good as anybody else the Celtics have. Horford's reputation is bigger than his actual performance. The Celtics are paying him 100 million to do slightly more than Greg Monroe.

You know when you play against the Cavs or the Warriors where you feel there's a big mismatch in talent that there's going to be a point in a game when they breakaway and talent prevails? I don't see it with this Celtics.

If you're aren't the only one, you should be. It's been one game for Fultz and two for Ben (who has looked really good). Idk what you were expecting.

take tonight's effort, add Saric to Simmons and a lot more Korkmaz, and then the force of nature that is Embiid. heck, what little we saw of Fultz in SL, he had his best games against Boston. i'm definitely psyched for the regular season.

Those are both super teams
Celtics of course are not there yet but we are solidfied imo as the 2nd best team in the east and depending on what happens with LEBRON next year it could be 1st best next year

Wizards couldn't beat the Celtics and their "lesser" talent last year...media overhyped them hard last year

maybe more talent but they lost their defense. Bradley and Crowder were great defenders and this was the celtics identity.

Morris is straight trash. They have no rebounding. Baynes will get destroyed by Embiid.

Who is the shotblocker? Hint: rhetorical question.

I predict we beat them 3 of 4 this year if Embiid plays in all of them.

Morris is not trash he is a solid starter in this league. Fultz will get destroyed by Kyrie and Hayward will destroy Simmons now this is not at their potential but they are rookies. Who’s going to play defense in the backcourt for you guys? Redick? Fultz?
If both teams are healthy I would say we would win 3

So you really aren't concerned? Two great defenders gone and replaced by mediocre defenders.

Kyrie is a great player but IT killed us last year. McConnell is a very good defender, as is Bayless and Covington will cover Hayward.

Simmons will cover trash..lol.

Elite speed in general, let alone for a guy his size is exciting.

Amir Johnson was easily the best big tonight. He had almost an identical statline to Okafor but the team fared much better when he was on the court, because he's very good at the things that don't show up in the box score. He had a number of great passes tonight that weren't converted as well.

Celtics is good. Nobody's gonna deny that. Other than that, its subjective and a lot of guesswork IMO.
