I guarantee you guys would win the championship, while rolling through the East, with that trade.

People forget that Lebron is still a top-5 player.

Sure it's not a long-term move, but if it gets you 1-2 championships, why wouldn't you do it?

We don’t have the assets to do it

Simmons is on $8 million or so per year

LeBron makes $40

Yes, especially if we could get Morant.

Wasn’t there a mention of Sixers brass putting the kibosh on Simmons for Kawhi?

Simmons for Lebron doesnt mean we’re interested in LeBron. It just means we’re open to trading Ben for the best of the best talents in the league.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

im going to ride the simmons train till either the wheels come off or if he fufills his potential (or whatever in between)

i dont see any value in trading him for any of the guys listed since at least not until i see how he is after this summer. i also understand it will be harder to trade him the longer we prolong this but i consider him to be far more talented than any of the players mentioned thus far (bar lebron, albeit hes 35)

call it blind faith i guess. i guess im more inclined to wait a little longer and see how this goes. not gonna give up on him yet.

Honestly I'll pass on Simmons for 35 year old Lebron. Probably bs anyway. People have just started floating BS rumors out on us

Im more than willing to give Ben the summer to prove he is willing to change. Problem with that is if he doesnt show the willingness to shoot the ball, his trade value is tanked once the league sees that and he is signed to a fresh max contract. So you either trade him now while his value is high, or you are ride or die with him forever.

So we want the ball out of Ben's hands in the half court and in Jimmy's. Well...those 3 awful possessions late in game 7 where Jimmy had the ball we had 2 shot clock violations and 1 terrible shot late. 3 biggest possessions of the season and we get 1 shot off? Are you kidding me?

But let's keep hammering the 22 year old.

This is why they need to trade him now. Do you have any confidence that he'll come back with an outside shot, the ability to hit free throws, touch around the rim, and the willingness to play hard and aggressive every game? I doubt it. This is the time.

They could try to trade him before the trade deadline of 2020, by that time they would be able to see already if he had any improvements this summer.

But so would everybody else. That's why they should trade him this offseason. Find a better fit to play with Embiid.

What about Simmons for the 2nd pick? is this feasible or the team with the 2nd pick would say "Hell no!"?

I'll ride with Ben for the summer. I don't buy that he'll have no value if he doesn't improve. His floor is still pretty high.

Good news guys, Ben has confirmed that he'll work on his shot this summer.... with his brother Liam again. I can't link to the time for some reason but it begins at 8:30.

The "wait and see" approach has run out of time. He's at the end of his rookie deal and expecting a max extension this summer. And we still don't know if he can be useful in the halfcourt in a playoff series. I think we got all the answers we need. You can't max a glue guy that can't get a bucket in crucial possessions in games that matter. You gotta trade him, at this point.

Yeah, I thought you need to carry dat scoring load to be a star, so then he is not a star, so not worth a max.
At the other end, there is the age argument, and people pointing out how players improve with age like Giannis or Siakam, but it is not the same at all, experience matters and Simmons has played ball all his life, these two started playing basketball later (especially Siakam) and were very raw and lacked strength. Simmons has a mature body and his skillset looked kind of polished out of college, certainly not much different than where it is now. I see no indication of significant improvement from Simmons. Apparently he is going to work on his shooting with his brother again, so nothing new.
