Oddly enough, what is being missed here is that it's more impressive that Ben can get 15 assists in a playoff game without a Steph, Klay or Durant. Especially with Joel and Tobias heavily being isolation players as opposed to off ball catch and shoot players like those three can be. So what he's doing in addition to them is even more valuable. He's getting the others going without the luxury those type of lethal offensive players opening things up for him and creating space or finishing from the perimeter.

Ben was their best player tonight. Philly needing another go to scorer can still be a truth, without degrading that other fact

Ben was their best player? Were we watching different games? Tobias was much better. So was Joel when he was playing.

I think criticism of Ben is being misconstrued with absolutely finding him worthless. He's still a good defender and is able to get into the lane (and promptly pass it out). He also played the most minutes. I would hope he'd generate assists because he's completely petrified of taking it up in traffic and if he does try to score, it's a lame hook shot.

He has a lot of value, but his current value is something I'd trade instantly for a competent scorer who gets his own buckets.

I'd trade Ben too. If you can trade up, like for Leonard. For Lavine? They'd have to send other assets.

But Tobias had a career night scoring the ball and Joel did his thing, and yet Ben was still more effective overall to the win perhaps both offensively and defensively. IMO

I wish the NF would put out an All Possessions video sooner, but he tosses a lot of passes out to the perimeter or lobs to Dwight in the post once he has gotten isolated into the paint on smaller guys. Yes, a lot of those passes were converted to assists today and he had some really nice assists in transition (which is his bread and butter), but he is essentially a non-threat at scoring other than putbacks or in transition. If he was a DeRozan, another essentially non-three point shooter, type scorer, then you'd never listen to me complain about him. DeRozan isn't even fair, I'd take a Dejounte Murray type scorer and be satisfied.

Instead our offense is him driving to a spot and kicking it out. That works against a dreadful team like Washington, but we're going to have some issues against teams that actually play cohesive defense.

Yeah it worked terribly this year, being the number one seed in the East and all.

Nice, it'll be a shame when you announce your departure from this board when Ben is traded this summer. We'll all miss you deeply.

Team has been a piece of **** for years, yet won 50+ games every year Ben and Embiid came together and all you idiots do is bitch and moan.

Again, you were lobbying for trading Embiid on the other thread before this game.

At least be honest that you're just a fan of Simmons and not the team

If you surrounded Embiid with four shooters, that would be a better fit, but I’m also not sure it naturally works. Embiid still struggles with double teams four years into his NBA career. That it remains a way to at least limit him is a significant knock against him. Whereas Simmons has found more and more ways to counter his limitations and has figured the game out, Embiid is largely the same player he was two seasons ago.

Embiid would benefit from better spacing if the Sixers traded Simmons, but it wouldn’t matter if you could still double him effectively.

Simmons, on the other hand, looks very much like he could be a dominant force if the Sixers moved Embiid and put four shooters around him. There’s no reason you couldn’t build a “Milwaukee Light” with Simmons surrounded by shooters the way the Bucks have with Giannis Antetokounmpo. You can rightfully counter with the Bucks’ issues with the postseason, but that’s a problem to be solved in the postseason. You need to get to “our team is good enough to win a title” first, and the Sixers have not been.

That's just one discussion point I found and posted. I said I'd keep them together personally as it hasnt even been one year with a competent front office.

But I dont care. In the end, you guys go back to living in piece of **** Philadelphia haha.

Ben Simmons is just not THAT guy, this should be clear by now. He is still a good player but that's it, one would certainly expect much more from a player that has top 5 talent.

Ben Simmons for James Harden.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Barlow/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

NBA awards are a joke and meaningless in the modern era.

Do one for Giannis too. Legitimately a bottom 3 skilled players in the league that's farmed accolades in efforts of Silver trying to expand the game's international brand.
