I think we need to stay away from athletically washed Fs who are defensive liabilities in a playoff series.
Hayward wasn't even postseason playable with the Celtics at age 29. He's 33 now.

I still like Malcolm Brogdon. Playmaker 2 with a grudge against the Celtics.

Lakers are about to go and get Brogdon soon. Sixers better monitor it.
Or maybe pounce on Chicago. Like everyone else is ready to do. Lakers have a lot of their own draft capital available.

My favourites are:
Option A. Marcus Smart
Smart would be a good complement to Maxey, but I worry he'd be a Celtics double agent just like Al Horford was. Can't be trusted!
I'd really like to kick the tires on Smart. The Grizz are, to quote Shady, ass-ass and Smart and Embiid in this system would be something else defensively.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Brogdon injured again. Maybe let’s monitor his health first. Celts played dirty this offseason and dumped two damaged goods in Rob Will and Brogdon, PTB caught holding the bag.

I'll apologize for my Lavine crusade. I still think he's a great option due to scoring/shooting/athleticism.
But this team clearly could just stick with 2 way long athletic wings and be fine.
I'd say Bridges (not available),OG (maybe available for overpay), Grant (maybe available for overpay), Siakam (will be available). Should be the targets.
If you can get one of them and Lavine you are the clear favorites to win multiple titles

Obviously need a upgrade at the guard position. Melton is struggling and only 6'1 and Pat is our only over ballhandler on the peremeter. That's not good enough for the long run.

Morey during his interview said he wasn't focused on backup PG or secondary ball handlers. He believes the player won't be good enough to stay in the rotation.
I tend to agree that it's not the biggest deal, but Tyrese can't miss any time

Grant won't be an overpay, if anything they'll struggle to move him.

“We’d be as good as last year if Maxey can replace Harden’s role and Tobi can replace Maxey’s role as the third option”
That, plus the depth.

I dont know whats with this new league sched. Warriors have a crazy tough sched while it seems like we will again have a long break and it wont be until nov 16 when we face a good team again, which is the Celts.

The only thing I I don't think he wants to waste any assets on a player that's won't be the 3rd star . Which is understandable.
I just really don't want to see Maxey , Melton backcourt allseason and especially going into the playoffs.
Maybe Springer or KJ breakout and becomes the starting 2 guard. lol. Who knows...

I'd gladly take a first rounder or two to take Grant off Portland's hands. It's not like they don't have plenty of them to offer after the Dame trade. The fit is there if nothing else.
In b4 JRoy shoots me down.

We have played 7 games and faced the Bucks, Suns and Celics, basically three of the four elite teams in the league. The remaining four games were against competitive Raptors and two bottom teams.
I don't understand why so many people say we have had a cakewalk schedule thus far. Health of the Suns was obviously a lucky break for us, but all games against Durant are a challenge.

If the options are trading for either an older, highly skilled player on an expiring contract who can serve as a secondary ball handler for relative little assets or spending a lot of assets on an overpriced 3&D guy on an already bloated longterm deal… I’ll take the first option.

Re: 76ers 2023-24 Season Thread Part 1
I know that Harden has only played two games thus far but is there any chance the Clippers decide to blow it up after this season assuming things don't pan out?
I fear they might decide to start their inevitable rebuild early thus making the 2028 first and 2029 swap option less valuable assuming they'll be contenders again by then. For that reason, it might be best for Morey to part with them sooner rather than later.
