Why would anyone take Nene these days?

I've heard Ike Diagu is on the block, is that someone Philly should look at?

There's a HIGH risk high reward deal. If Nene comes back and becomes the beast some thought he could develop into... than it's a steal. However, if he comes back and continues to suffer from injury problems and weight problems... this is gonna hold Miami down for the next 4 years.

While the other gms are calling,
and the sixers draft pick is falling,
All the smart fans are bawling
because the state of the sixers is appalling.

What's with the poems these days? I saw a similar thing on the Knicks board yesterday.

Today is shaping up to be a great day for the Sixers. If the Heat did in fact trade for Nene and Rod Thorn is telling the truth that the Nets aren't trading Vince Carter today... that would mean that the Sixers and Grizzlies will be the only two teams with cap space this summer.

Considering that the Grizzlies are looking to keep that payroll down so that the team can sell, the Sixers will actually be the only team looking to use their cap space. This is huge!

I'd just like even a minor trade to keep me interested til this summer...The trade deadline is a lot likee Christmas, it's all anticipation, then when it's over you wonder why you got all hyped about it.

Eh. Normally I feel that way but not this year. I guess I have my eyes on the prize this summer and while seeing a new player in a Sixer uni would be nice for the next 8 weeks... it's not going to be a major move so I'm not all that hype.

Yeah but why make a trade just to make a trade. Team is playing well most nights.

I was sent a text a few minutes ago saying nothing was happening. Still working the phones, but nothing close.

Chad Ford is reporting on his chat that he just got a call about a possible deal going down between Cleveland and Chicago with Ben Wallace involved. Interesting....

Chad Ford: (1:19 PM ET ) Hold on a second ... have to take this call on a possible trade ...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ryan, Chicago: Please tell me Ben Wallace is on the move

Chad Ford: (1:24 PM ET ) Maybe ... call was about Ben Wallace in a possible deal with the Cavs. I've got to stress that it was from what I'd call a third party source ... not someone directly involved in the negotiations. So ... take it with a grain of salt ... but interesting ...

Chad Ford: (1:25 PM ET ) The deal as I heard it ... by the way ... had Drew Gooden, Ira Newble, Shannon Brown and Cederic Simmons coming back to Chicago.
