Obviously it will have to play out, but I can speculate and project, in the meantime. I don't understand the pushback on that.

Seriously, though, what we would be doing right now with Dejounte Murray? He was a terrible offensive prospect coming out of Washington and has been completely futile on that end through his brief NBA career thus far. He'd be an even less appealing fit with Simmons/Embiid than we're currently faced with Fultz being.

Luwawu turned out to be a terrible pick. I wish we took Brogdon with one of those picks (me and PhilaFinest were actually calling for that pre-draft), but I would still take Korkmaz with the other pick. Like I said, I expect him to be better than almost every non-lotto 1st rounder and maybe even some of the lotto picks.

Even if Murray wouldn't be a great fit on this team, he's an All-league defender. He's still the better pick, because you can trade him for 2x as much as Korkmaz, no matter how much potential we think Korkmaz has. Now by March, Korkmaz may prove himself to be the better pick, but right now...

So what is your point? Because Murray and Brogdon have achieved something in this league already Bryan Colangelo should have picked those guys instead of TLC and Korkmaz? What if Korkmaz (in a hypothetical case) surpasses the production of Murray and Brogdon this year, are you going to say that the other teams made a big mistake for letting Korkmaz drop to #26?

I'm saying you can't give Colangelo credit for a great pick, when the player hasn't yet shown he's good enough to be on the court. That's premature. I like Korkmaz's potential, but to me it's stilly in off-season 2018, to say he was great pick. He's hasn't gotten off the bench. I don't know what's so hard to understand about that.

I agree that it is too early to tell. However, saying that the Korkmaz pick is great is just as premature as saying that Brogdon and Murray are the better picks because they've had better years thus far. Also, you're picking the two best performing players after Korkmaz, which seems a bit unfair.

So if I said "will prove to be" instead of "was an" this entire conversation wouldn't exist? Seems like such a small semantical reason for this much pushback. This reeks of "Colangelo hate" baggage that TTP and Lloyd are still carrying around, lol.

No. It's not unfair. I said those two names specifically because the guys right here on the board who follow college basketball, wanted those guys. Kobbbld, Philifinest, Smittybaton... those guys identified them, but Colangelo passed on them twice. Colangelo consistently picked worse players than the average fans who actually pay attention to this, would have picked. He was terrible.

Yes. If you said it that way, there would be no conversation and nothing to disagree with.

I told you that it was unreasonable to crown a player as a success before he's even established a role in the rotation or really played outside of garbage time. That "reeks of Colangelo hate"? Is this how the mind of a Colangelo stan works? Get a grip.

Identified them or actually ranking both higher than TLC and Korkmaz? I'm skeptical because I remember plenty of guys here being positive about TLC (think Bodner even ranked him #3 at some point).

Problem with these kind of things is that you can nitpick every thing you got "right", but negate the busts you rank higher and simply remain silent about them, because nobody cares. If Hutchison busts, you and I will look really stupid ranking him in the lottery.

That's why I really like that "Post up or shut up" topic during the draft this year. Not because we can argue who's right or wrong but hopefully some posters will acknowledge how hard it is after reviewing their own board. In the end I love talking about prospects and ranking them, but it's nearly impossible to do it accurately. I don't think it's that much different for GM's, they have a lot more information but that also makes the process even more complex.

Who knew Furkan would take the heat off Fultz on this board the day before the season began?

One good thing about these early injuries is Brett may be forced to play Korkmaz in meaningful NBA minutes. I'm hoping Korkmaz gets a chance to play with Ben Simmons and Embiid at some point to see how that works. You gotta guard that guy. I don't know that he'd score more points than Markelle Fultz or Dario Saric, in the lineup with them, but I believe he'd eventually provide more gravity for the offense and help Simmons and Embiid more.

To me its a no brainer to pick up Korkmaz at $2 million a year next season. Why wouldn't you unless Brown and staff don't think his defense will ever be acceptable? The other possibility is cap space, but at $2 million, Korkmaz could easily be movable if it came down to it. I just don't think you would find a better prospect than him for less than $2 million.

I assume they've either decided to not pick it up or are trying to trade him? Theres no way they're waiting to see if he has a good practice or something.

I'm guessing they don't want to be shorthanded with the back to back. Wouldn't surprise me if he's traded or cut once chandler comes back.

Maybe Korkmaz is a malcontent with Fultz and Shamet jumping him in opportunity. Compounded even further with Milton and Smith on the horizon.

This is probably going to be a regret, down the line. I think Korkmaz is a quality prospect.

Yeah, my same thought.
I'd keep an eye on Cleveland and Korver....

The no1 pick was a gimme. He couldn’t draft any player that can help this team now and people had faith in him running the draft because of what he did 10+ years ago lol. Hinkie drafted a couple bust but got some NBA players.

Pompey wrote this 30 min ago: http://www2.philly.com/philly/sports/sixers/sixers-furkan-korkmaz-trade-rumors-nba-contract-option-bench-20181030.html

"I just left my country to come here and to play here," said Korkmaz, a native of Turkey. "I just want to play. Then I feel like I'm ready to play. That's why I looking for an opportunity to play."

"This is my second year. I just need to play."

A league source said Monday the Sixers hadn't decided if they're going to exercise the $2.03 million third-year team option on his contract. The team likes Korkmaz's scoring ability but is unsure about retaining him. It might try to trade him. A source said Korkmaz wants to be traded over lack of playing time.

He would not confirm nor deny that on Tuesday.

"First of all, I want to see what the team is going to say to me," Korkmaz said. "I'm waiting for them to tell me, 'We are going to pick up your option' [or] 'We are not going to pick up your option.' Then I want to think about it.

"I want to play. I just want to play."

He sees an inferior player getting minutes ahead of him and it bothers him. Could see that coming.

Bolded is completely wrong.

And following your logic your boy Fultz was good tonight. He was -5 in a blowout loss. :D
