I think that he's as much of a power forward as Zach Randolph. Sad that Okafor's critics use the opinion of a loser coach like Brett Brown to asses whether or not Okafor can play the PF position. It's like if Chip Kelly had drafted DeMarco Murray, he would have been a failed NFL running back until he went to a team that utilized him correctly. But since Chip didn't draft him, DeMArco had a track record of NFL success BEFORE having his career sidetracked by Chip's bad coaching. Right now Okafor is being utilized as a center without ever SNIFFING the PF position. DeMarco Murray wasn't allowed to run downhill under Chip Kelly and the Eagles didn't even have a fullback under Chip to lead his way like the Titans have during his career resurgence. Bad coaching doesn't define a player to real basketball minds like myself. I can see through the bad coaching and time will be on my side, as it usually is...

A solid example of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

Have to give him credit where credit is due. He played well tonight. Hope to see him build on it.

I hope this is a breakout game.

It's not like he had an outlier shooting night that is hard to maintain. Tonight's performance was not because of luck but it's because of effort, which makes it very doable throughout the season.

He started the game with full intensity, he actually set a few screens :o, had some excellent dimes and I caught some vague glimpses of him catching a rebound with two hands. :o :o

Don't mind him fouling out at all.

How he should play - making quick decisions on both ends, not stalling, being communicative.

Pass at 1:10 was my favorite play he made.

His screen setting was the most important improvement. He set a few good ones and it led to separation and open shots. He needs to be consistent there. Passing was improved too, like that clip at 1:10, but there were still a bunch of moments where he ball stopped and badly missed open shooters, like the clip right after at 1:15 or vs the double team at 2:43.

2:43 his back was turned to Hollis, he was actually looking at Sergio because he was calling for him to kick it out due to the pressure. When he catches a glimpse of Hollis cutting Satoransky is beginning to trim the passing lane. It would have had to of been reactionary and an amazingly pin point leading pass. Also, Hollis' cut and him stopping cutting in the final image happen almost instantaneously, look at where Hollis is on the court in each.

Why can't Okafor play this well all the time? If he gives this level of effort every game he would be a valuable piece for us. I was very pleased with what I saw but I'm hesitant to feel better because he has lazy tendencies. Please keep it up and give that level of effort every night and the attacks on him will stop.

I also love the positive body language. Not sure what happened this game but hope what ever it was -- it was transformative for the rest of the season.

We need Jah. Not only for this year to be watchable but the future as well. It's still early he can salvage the season.

A good big man passer is going to know where his teammate is in that play. He should know that one of his teammates is likely to be around the 3 point line on the side from which he got double teamed, especially when said player is yelling. I'm just pointing out that while there are encouraging signs, he still has a long way to go. It is encouraging that he found Saric not long after.

How many times he tried to score at the post? That for me made the difference. He's a lot tougher to defend scoring/pass fronting the basket.

He's can be an elite ISO player in the league, and I'm not sure if he isn't close to that level already.

It's clear to see that his touches should NEVER begin in the low post unless he has a clear physical advantage. He should be given the basketball in areas traditional to POWER FORWARDS! Jahlil Okafor is the perfect player for the triangle offense. Not a shocker that he is also from Chicago.

Jah needs to continue to play with that kind of energy. He finally set up some decent screens and was relatively active on both ends. The better he plays, the better the Sixers will look, and hopefully increase Okafor's trade stock.

it only get better. Noel coming back, meaning even with the minutes restrictions, we'll finally get to see how well (or not) the bigs can share the court. hopefully, about the same time we could be getting a significant upgrade in the backcourt (comparatively) which should manifest even more frontline production. and then, the the debut of our other (potentially) franchise player. the trade(s) can wait until someone wants to make a compelling offer. and the coach has bought himself time with those wins. heck, now we're moving from outright worst to a bunched up lower tier.

Okafor should definitely focus on using his face up game more, especially that step back mid-range jumper. We just don't have the proper personnel or schemes to pull off a heavy post oriented offense.
