I have often referred to Ben Simmons as the next Magic Johnson.
Before I do so again, I'd like to see Ben recognize when he's well defended faster and make simpler passes.
Going up against Embiid in practice should help that a lot.
We also need the other players also to recognize it and cut to open spaces while defenders peek in contemplating help--which they are already doing.
His inside passes to cutters are sublime. However, I'd also like to see him recognize open three point shooters.
Again, others have to cut to open spaces as the defense collapse.
Can't lie, was hoping those things would be a tad more innate. No reason why it won't develop.
Despite the spacing limitations, I like TJ out there with Ben sometimes. Even though Ben can't shoot, can his man really afford to leave him?
Imagine Joel Embiid on the end of Ben's passes!
Joel said they haven't even worked on offense yet. That they have to be the best defensive team in the league, first.
I support that.
I do not support having Justin Anderson. Even less considering we already had Jerami Grant.
Jerami was always a player who was going to do more when asked to do less. And he has.
All that isolation-Jerami crap was garbage when we were tanking.
But now, Jerami can hit a corner three, or pump fake and get all the way to the rim.
Anderson had a great game statistically last night. And I still don't like his game.
Catch and shoot is fine. But I think he's even worse than Jerami off the dribble. When he's stuck, I don't understand why dudes don't sprint to take the ball from him. Literally, hand the ball off.
Broken record: Justin Anderson is a much better Solomon Hill than Dante Cunningham. There's a deal with NOP.
Korkmaz is crafty. If there's garbage minutes to get, I want Furkan getting them, not Anderson.
Jazz have no minutes for Dante Exum. Donovan Mitchell and Alec Burks, second unit.
Marquese Chriss at the five. TJ Warren and Josh Jackson forward.
Dejounte Murray starting over Patty Mills. If we had Dejounte Murray and Furkan Korkmaz. Sigh.
SkinnyBoyz finally making their debut? Justin Holiday and Jeremy Lamb?
Love me some TJ Leaf. No Elfrid Payton, no Westbrook. Oladipo is going to put in some nice work.
I like Derrick Rose 3.0. Jae Crowder and Isaiah Thomas. Plus Dwade. Let's see.
Like Jahlil Okafor, is Stanley Johnson finally ready for the speed of the NBA game? Henry Ellenson's on his way.
