Re: Playoffs!?
Watched the replay. Hawks just kept hanging around. Celts were looking to deliver the knock out punch as early in the second quarter. That transition 5 out offense is something we need to game plan on. Celts were just a machine in the third, drive drawk kick and 3.
But in the fourth, Celts decides to slow it down with double digit lead and inserted Smart-Horford-Rob Will and turn it up on defense. Hawks suddenly traps their ball handlers. Smart and Tatum made crucial TOs down the stretch. Trae catching fire where Hawks got less quality shots but made more less quality shots than Celts making higher quality shots. But who’s to say those were less quality shots when Trae shoots long 3s like Tatum shooting mid range jumpers?
Another key thing to note is Hawks were not shooting as well as the Celts. Celts were shooting 53FG%, Celts also outrebounded Hawks in this game. The biggest difference was the 7 made 3s by the Hawks. Most of it were Celts bigs not stepping out to contest 3s and Celts not staying close with Trae near halfcourt.
You can’t say Celts played with their food here. Hawks just played better and I’d say everyone is shocked with the result.
Going into G6 at home and with a well rested Dejounte? With how this playoffs is going, this story seems to me that Celts will win this one

Really strange player. Difficult if not impossible to build a real contender around him (much like AI), he doesn't appear to be a great teammate, and he's a coach killer.
Yet, when the lights shine the brightest and the pressure is on, he is truly in his element and lives to take the last shot. The kind of player you need and want in the biggest moments, but it's getting to the biggest moments with him that is the problem.

Man other EC teams are really indirectly helping us out. Hope this is our year to take advantage.
I fully expect Boston to win the series, but they’ve been somewhat exposed and will come in exhausted. Hopefully Atlanta can at least force a game 7 to be played on Saturday.

In theory it should be a good team since it's a bunch of tall forwards who don't need the ball in their hands and are (on paper) plus defenders and can shoot. The team is obviously built around making up for Trae's deficiencies.
I do think regardless of what happens they should probably move on from him unless they believe they can get a second running mate, like Pascal Siakam.
Otherwise they're just spinning their wheels with no intention of really making it past the second round. 20-21 was a fluke because they ran into our massive dysfunction. It's really the one time I'm advocating for a borderline superstar being traded (without asking for it) because he's such a liability on defense.

Re: Playoffs!?
In this year’s playoffs, Trae Young.
On Court Drtg: 113
Off Court DRtg: 120
Personally, the flaw I see with Trae is the inconsistency of his perimeter shooting for a superstar perimeter scoring guard and not having an elite ISO scoring package. Defensively, I think you can hide him with personnel and scheme.

Assuming we can similarly exploit Horford, how do you see us performing against them with Williams swapped in at center? He seems like one who could give Harden and Maxey problems.

And in the locker room, evidently.

Biid will have an easier time scoring and their rim protection is a whole lot weaker if Al is replaced by Grant Williams.
If they do that, I’d even explore attacking Jayson Tatum. I think he’s low key a weak link on their defense. Dejounte likes to attack him and he’s shooting 50% with Tatum as defender.

Re: Playoffs!?
Philly has shown the ability to make Tatum and Brown struggle this year. Williams or Horford can't defend Jo. The team is feeling confident and if the others are aggressive, I could see them being a problem for Boston.
Limit turnovers,Stop their transition and penetration, and rebound the ball.

Who saw Knicks Heat for a spot in the ECF? I still think the Bucks will win the series though. Where can I find series odds? Curious to know what a bet on the Bucks to win series currently pays.

Re: Playoffs!?
Celtics, Bucks and Cavs all getting knocked out in round 1 would be pretty convenient

I can already hear the national media screaming about us backing into the Finals. Tell you this, if that scenario happened, we damn well better win it all.

Re: Playoffs!?
For me a good bet is Sixers +900 for championship odds (For fun and they’re undervalued based on 538 odds vs vegas odds), then hedging it with Suns +400. If Celts makes it to the finals, I dont see them beating the Suns. CP, Booker and KD will just hunt Al relentlessly

Sorry, I was referring to Robert Williams. I would think Embiid would have an easy time against him though so maybe it’s a moot question.
