Assets for Harris, Melton, Oubre. Get a second rounder for Springer and see if you can get anything for Reed (although I don't really think he can be traded anywhere but the Jazz?)

100% agree. The FO focus should completely be on 2024 and beyond at this point.

I dont agree at all. Harris has little value except as an expiring and bird rights and Melton has very little value since he is battling an injury. Oubre is getting you nothing either since you wont be getting his bird rights. Also, Harris has a massive contract so if you want max cap space for the offseaon you have to trade Harris for expiring contracts or picks and your not getting picks for Harris lol and you not likely getting expirings. Embiid will be playing again this season once the meniscus is healed. Not playing him again this season is not any kind of insurance for him being healthy going forward. In case you dont understand this but his knees don't seem capable of supporting his massive frame for long. I dont understand what you guys still dont understand about the max cap space this off season being 50 million dollars and to get that it most likely means renouncing all free agents besides Maxey. I still feel like the way to go is to add a couple of quality starter at the trade deadline that fit now and going forward. Maybe they could do something amazing this offseason but its not going to invovled getting meaningful assets for Harris, Melton, and Oubre!

I think Embiid's career in Philly could be extended if we added another shot creating star to take the scoring load off him when Maxey sits. Unfortunately said player likely won't be available in a trade until the offseason at the earliest. Morey should be patient and play the long game.

I think Morey needs to stand pat and make whatever trade he had planned for the deadline even with Embiid injured.

We're not gonna have contracts to move in the offseason outside of Reed (assuming we go past the first round), so if he has a guy on his sights the time to make the move is now and then keep the guy for next season.

If we don't make a trade we're gonna lose all the expiring we currently have and our only way to improve is gonna be via FA, by making a move on the trade deadline you can move some of the contracts you get on the deadline and use them for trades in the offseason too, if necessary.

I think the outlook of the FO should be focused on the next 2-3 (including this one) but the timing of a deal is all based on circumstance. Make advantageous moves when they present themselves & always be opportunistic. I think that’s why you’ve seen teams like OKC & Boston be so successful because they pounce on opportunities when they arise.

This. We aren't competing for a championship this year - it was always going to be a transition year, and now that is certain.

Oubre is so great. He's such a big play guy on both ends, and not just theoretically like Melton or Reed... irrational confidence guy this team needs. I know he makes some mistakes and sees nothing but the rim, but considering he's a finisher and doesn't get the ball all the time. It's refreshing to see a guy try to maximize his touches with diversity towards the rim, aggressive cutting or quick trigger 3s ala MPJ

Dude, I love KO...But he'd been disastrous up until the last week or so. It seems like he plays better/harder when he's on bad teams. I don't know what that is all about, but that's just the way it seems to me. I don't have stats to back that up. I mentioned Dinwiddie as a possible add...To me, he's similar to Oubre in the sense that when it's good it's great, when it's bad, it's atrocious and it costs you games. I want to keep Oubre around, I agree he's doing some nice things for us again. If he can step it up in the absence of Joel Embiid that would be awesome. My main issue with Oubre has been his team defense. Individually he's really good at times when he digs in and decides to defend. The problem I have with him is on switches and rotations. He gambles and he's out of position a lot of the time, and he's late on closeouts. Those are my complaints about him which basically come down to Bball IQ. I have the same complaints about Tyrese Maxey (my favorite Sixer at the moment). It's defense and not a lot of it is played in the NBA. Nick Nurse is here for that specific reason so maybe my complaints should be with him? IDK, but I definitely didn't mean to make it sound like I hate Kelly Oubre. We really need him now more than ever with Embiid shelved.

The only thing that's certain right now is there will be a deadline deal that involves the Sixers getting under the tax line.

Sixers haven't had a version of him since I've watched them. I'm just enjoying the experience.

He's one feather I put in Morey's cap, even though it fell in his lap due to the Miami ineptitude

Oubre is a valuable player to have but we need to have a backup plan when his irrational confidence & low bball IQ become a problem. Let him cook when he’s rolling but nail him to the bench when the bad version shows up.

Call me crazy but isn’t this an opportunity for the Sixers to build properly around Joel

Get some length, athleticism and shooting

I feel more than anything that he thrives in a limited role. Like he's a great 7th man or so. When he becomes a more prominent player, he tries to fill the void, but that's when his flaws show up.

How would you guys feel if we end up with LeBron instead?

My issue with LeBron is he doesnt bring it every game nowadays. But he’s definitely still a very good player. I also think LeBron is a cant miss opportunity in marketing standpoint.

It was different before, but my only red line for a Joel led championship for the 76ers is a bad human like Miles Bridges. If LeBron playing Batman is what it takes to see Embiid lift the trophy sign me up.

But I think this is more of an athlete supporting another athlete as opposed to some cryptic meaning.

There is a guy out there who just got a plea deal. I assume he’s free to sign with any team. Put up good numbers as a lead guard last year and is only 23. Maybe a chance to steal an undervalued talent.

I’m just sayin’ we might want to look into it…

Are you referring to Kevin Porter, Jr.? Not sure about signing guys with allegations of domestic violence. How is his situation different from Miles Bridges who most (including myself) would rather avoid like the plague?

This could be a blessing in disguise.

Possibility A. Joel rests up for 2 months which gives Maxey, Tobias and dare I say Oubre time to prove their mettle and Nurse time to establish a truly less predictable offense which needs less from Joel to be effective and all this leads to the 6ers being the best possible postseason version of themselves.

Possibility B. Let Joel recover. Trade off some of the valued role players for picks or youth to improve our summer time war chest in pursuit of the 3rd star any Joel Embiid led team really needs to compete for titles.

The only truly bad possibility is if Jo decides to play on this injury and it gets worse. This is likely what will happen.
