Ming, I don't know if the Sixers turned down Duhon for Miller, but I'm told they want more for Miller. My supposition is that's a draft pick, but don't know for sure.

Also, somebody e-mailed that my Duhon-Miller article is the top story on www.hoopshype.com.

Knicks still have their 2010 second-rounder, which should be fairly early.

Also, don't forgot Jazz pick in Korver/Giricek deal is protected through No. 17 in 2010, though Sixers owe Timvberwolves a protected first-rounder from the salary dump of Carney and Booth to make room for Brand's contract. Sixers also have their own 2010 first-rounder.

Alright thanks a lot for the info Tom.

The Knicks will be getting the ping pong ball killer so maybe their pick won't be all that high.
Seriously their unprotected 2010 first-rounder belongs to the Jazz. So they will definitely go for the playoff next year. Whether they make it or not is another question though.

Speaking of the Jazz pick, is it possible for the Sixers to buy a late first-rounder, trade it to the Wolves, and keep the Jazz pick themselves?
I believe they have done the same thing with a second-rounder trade before.

It's possible, but would have to try to protect the pick in some fashion, depending whose it is.

Am told it's "very quiet" on the Sixers' front and that they "don't want just Duhon for one year" in a sign-and-trade with New York.

tom, do you have any info on WHY they wouldnt want duhon for one year for miller? it seems like tailor made since its a one year deal and a vet pg who can hit the 3 and initiate the offense, AND would be a good mentor for holiday.

Does it maybe mean they think they have better sign and trade options with miller?

Guess they think Miller is worth more -- whether it's another player or a pick. Don't believe they have any better options, at this point.

Any specifics? Do they want a pick, cash NY to take Green?

Maybe I'm alone on this, but sixers can technically lose Miller for nothing. Why not just jump on the oppurtunity to get a vet PG with an expiring contract?

youre not alone. Its a no brainer, unless they are super committed to giving louis a chance to run the team (why?) and they think jrue is a sure fire 20min per game guy already.

Thats why i wonder if they have something else on the table for miller

Maybe it's more about the money. I know that they'd still be under the LT if they traded straight up for Duhon. However, if they keep payroll at $64 or $65 million they'd be able to take back some salary later in the season for a pick, player they want or to upgrade a pick.

Their payroll as I see it is $59.2 for 9 players. Add Holiday at $1.2, a BAE PG at $2.0 & 2 veteran minimum players ($.80 against the cap for each) & the total comes to about $64 million. The LT is set at just under $70 million this year so that $5 to $6 million under could be valuable in a trade.

I wonder why there is no interest in Felton. He's a RFA right? I'd still sign him to an offer sheet. He's still young, so even on a team that wants to keep building, he'd be there for the future.

Think everybody think Charlotte is going to re-sign Felton, so why bother?

Would they match if they already have a stud in Augustine?

Isn't there a rule on this board about posting with multiple handles? After all, unless I'm mistaken, this is the same numbskull that constantly proclaimed Sam the second coming of Bill Russell, isn't it?

I'm sure that the Bobcats would match an offer for the MLE, which is the most we could offer him. I agree with you though, I'd like him.

Not a huge fan of Felton's. Think Duhon is better.

I like Duhon but would take Felton over him.
