Looks at post count...

Not the largest of commitments ehh?

Looking at your post count, I hope all of your posts aren't as useless as this one.

Now lets start the real debate.

Some serious rumblings by major media outlets saying "Simmons may not workout for Philly".

If he doesn't workout for us, Does this nix him from our process?

Didn't Kristaps and Okafor do the same last year?

I don't remember, but id be pretty turned off if I owned the #1 pick and a player refused to workout for me.

Kristaps seemed to be a product of his agent realizing our front court was stuffed. He shares an agent with Noel IIRC, so I don't think it was out of spite or anything but actually for the best interest of his prospect.

Okafor IDK

I guess it would mean he could get traded to LA for Ingram, Russell, and or next years pick being unprotected. Either way the Sixers win.

So by all accounts Simmons desperate to go to the Lakers. Not sure where Lakers stand, but let's play along and assume they want him. What can we realistically extract for a pick swap? Drop protections from their pick? Add a sweetner and pry Russell? Freaking Colangelo walks into a gold mine, let's see what he does with it.

Imo, nothing.

If the Sixers want Ingram, why would they trade? If the Sixers want Simmons, why would Philly trade? It is just not likely.

If they offer Russell just for the swap, I'd probably take that. You get yourself a pg and sf who can both shoot. Instantly opens things up in the post for Biid and Jah. Simmons doesn't want to play here and we've already seen him quit when he isn't happy.

Nothing. I wouldn't take Russell and 2 for Simmons.

If Simmons doesn't work out for us it won't matter. We don't need to work him out.

I expect that he will workout with us in the end though. There is prestige to going first.

You wouldn't take Ingram and D'Angelo Russell over Simmons?

Embiid/Jah/Ingram/Russell/???? with Saric off the bench?

That lineup would have 4 guys who can shoot 3's, 2 guys who can dominate the post, and a guy who can be a defensive anchor on the perimeter.

Earlier today I was all-in on Simmons. Now I want Ingram. Tomorrow I'll want Simmons again...

The Lakers ain't trading the #2 and an asset. There is no gap between the two. If anything, Ingram is the player the Lakers want.

I don't like Russell.

I would like him in the back court if we had Simmons because I consider Russell and Murray to basically be the same caliber of player, and we need ball handlers that can shoot to pair with Simmons.

Remember the old Three Stooges bit where Curly runs up the long stairs carrying a big block of ice, and when he gets to the top it is an ice cube?

He then gets mad and tries to run up with two blocks of ice, and he ends up with two ice cubes.

Ingram and Russell are both talented guys that don't add up to a single Simmons.

Would you trade Durant or Westbrook for Lowry and Derozan? Hell no. That is what this is to me.

Simmons is a Durant or Westbrook, and Ingram and Russell are Kyle Lowry's.

Ingram, and without hesitation. Simmons' team didn't win. Simmons coasted on D despite his team losing. Simmons is a poor shooter, even from the FT line. Simmons is much more a 4 than a 3, and will cause spacing issues at the 3 offensively unless your bigs have range - which Sixers bigs don't.

Ingram is a year younger, a much better shooter, and has potential to be a true number 1 offensive player. Ingram-Saric (if he ever comes over)/Noel-Embiid/Noel...

Then trade Oak to Boston for 3 and one of their bigs - Sullivan or Olynyk. Drop off at 3 from last year is HUGE.
