gotta love RFA. So okafor can leave in 8 years. Awesome

He could just sign a 1 year deal and leave the following year.
max qualifying offer makes the lowest contract he can get a 3 year.

TIme to trade Okafor to NY for Porzingis and NY's 1st round pick in 2016 (top 3 protected in '16, unprotected in '17). The guy doesn't want to be here so grant him his wish.

They don't even have that pick, as it has been traded.

Great to hear.
Seriously think this kid could be the future of Sixers basketball. While the roster construction isn't exactly a seamless fit,Brett Brown has to be salivating knowing he's got this kid to work with for the future.

Also LOVE that Brown spent so many years with Tim Duncan in San Antonio. This could benefit both of them immensely both short and long term.

Now, onto searching for every possible perimeter player with a jump shot that we can obtain.

While he is not the guy I wanted going into the draft, Okafor is an intriguing prospect.

He is so polished offensively. His defense and free throw shooting is an glaring issue. However, the kid is only 19 years old. He is far from a finished product.

If he is dedicated and puts in the work, there is no reason he couldn't become a good rim protector. He has the size. Right now, he is not a two-way force type of franchise center, but he has the size and skill set to be just that. Its going to be about putting the work in for this young man.

Okafor is a player who can be as great as he wants to be. Perhaps being bypassed by two teams will serve as motivation.

Hinkie did the right thing in picking talent over fit. The purpose of the draft is to acquire talent. Fit can be dealt with later. If Okafor and Embiid pan out (Noel already is a defensive force), it will be a good problem to have.

What is OK4's defensive potential? We've seen what Noel turned into offensively in such a short time.
