The Celtics could surely put together a better package than the Sixers, they are asset heavy, as always, though if I am Houston I ask for Tatum, and when they say no, start building a larger package around Jaylen Brown, not Kemba. Houston is going into a rebuild, Kemba is a now player, not a build around player. Obviously they have to throw in more around Brown, but on the Houston side Kemba is getting near his decline phase, unless you have plans to flip him somewhere else the deal should be Brown, younger guys and picks.
I'm not arguing that. I'm just saying that our non-Ben offer can be beat by Celtics F-level offer, that's how laufhable it is.

Any offer can be beat hypothetically. That adds nothing to the conversation

It is a reminder that the work of the Collar and the Collaboration following his mistakes depleted our asset stock that was so carefully built and left us where we are, with the title of this thread explaining it all. Stay in the game to run up the offer on other teams, then move on to the series of non-Harden moves that will really complement our current young star/superstar core.

That's how laughable your arguments are.

Kemba Walker is highly overrated. He got abused in the playoffs, has a bad knee, and has always been a defensive zero. There's a good reason Ainge is trying to pawn him off on the entire league.

I like Jrue, but I don't think that puts us over the top. Especially if Harden goes to BK.

If we're in on Harden Morey would definitely leak this story to let Houston know we have other options.

All true. Still better player and contract than Harris.

If they got Harden, Brooklyn would need to implode or Durant would have to be a shell for anyone to get past them. If they clicked it would be game over.

At least with Jrue I'd enjoy the team.

****, I never though about competent use of the media. I'm just used to someone finding out what we are doing and then a better GM robs us.

Jrue and to a lesser extent, Noel, returning to us this season would have such a process circle of Life feel to it, lol. Jrue would be a great fit here, but like always, depends on the price.

I think that's a heart vs. head sort of conflict. I don't think the cost it takes to get him is worth it, but who knows. Seems like the Pels are insistent on getting a lotto pick for him.

No idea why all these exorbitant prices are being thrown around for Jrue Holiday. Nice player. Not a star.

Anyone who wins a bidding war for him will ultimately be a loser. Classic "winners curse".

Jrue/ Heild/ Noel would be a more than solid offseason.

Does not make us immediate contenders by no means of course but rome wasn't built in a day and all that jazz lol. The latter two should also be movable if it comes to that. Get another young guard in the draft and some shooters and thats what I'd do. I highly doubt it ends up that way tho

Man a lineup including Jrue, Ben, Matisse, and Jo would be awfully stout.

Jrue is 200% the guy I've been saying a while now is the perfect(attainable) player to put in the lineup with Simmons and Embiid. We sometimes underestimate the value of guys who can make your stars better. And Jrue Holiday would take SO MUCH pressure off of Simmons especially.

Hes equally good both on and off the ball. Can play halfcourt game a pick and roll ballhandler as well as run the floor and fill lanes for Ben in transition as a catch and shoot threat. He also will help Ben with hounding the opposing ballhandlers defensively, allowing Ben to focus on the wings and roam the passing lanes off the ball.

Ben Simmons goes to another level with Jrue Holiday next to him.

Jrue's value is a result of the market, he is a nice fit for what a lot of teams are looking for and hence that kind of demand side competition drives the price up. Our lack of midrange salaries is a problem in trades like this. Jrue is not a superstar, but I can see a lot of teams feeling he is a talented two way player that really fits on a team looking to win. He is kind of at that stage Iggy was at just before he landed in GSW, just needing the right place to hit his sweet spot and vice versa.

I believe the more we see stories like this, the more likely Tilman Fertitta sends Harden to us instead out of pure spite:

I feel nothing when I hear Jrue or Hield compared to James Harden. He IS the game changer.
