So so bad.

You wanted him to make a move. That's the cost for a rotation player. I told you this.

God, you're dumb.

I didn't necessarily want them to make a move. I've been saying I didn't think he was going to do anything of significance, if he made a move at all.

I want him to make smart moves. Never did I say "He must do something!"

Not bad. Seems like a guy that could help more. Not really move the needle much but he's tall and seems to be decent all-around

What was the point of this move?

Thybulle sucks

I would have rather keep Thybulle in all honesty

I wouldn't be surprised if Doc doesn't even play him

Again, like always, sample size and volume. That article is from january and he was shooting 37%. Now that number is back to 32%, low volume shooters are prone to bigger variance

Yea. I'm pretty sure since McDaniels is like 60% cheaper than Thybulle this will now push them under the luxury tax threshold.

McDaniels $1,900,000 salary
Thybulle $4,400,000 salary

Sportsroc has updated the roster and now shows the Sixers as $1,269,999 below the luxury tax.

He’s taller and better than Thybulle

As the NBA inches closer to positionless basketball with 6'8" PGs like Luka Doncic and do-it-all skyscrapers like Bol Bol, players that can guard multiple positions are becoming the most coveted archetype in the league. At 6'9" with a 7-foot wingspan, Jalen McDaniels fits that archetype. He can switch on just about anybody and hold up. He flies around on defense like a free safety and covers up gaps.

He with Melton on the court van wreck opponents offensive sets I think

What is a "smart" move with the assets we have?

Oh we got picks back. Thought it was just Thybulle + CHA SRP for McDaniels.

I like McDaniels more than Thybulle. Not sure how good of a defender he is. Anyone know?

Seems like we can take on approximately 1.3 mil in salary and still be under the tax.

Someone help me w this trade

Best defender and picks for a guy averaging 10-11?

Can he defend? Rebound? Can he displace Morey’s horrific signing (Tucker)??

Tell me this isn’t the only move we are making. I don’t see how we are improved. I see it as a wash. Maybe I’m wrong, wouldn’t be first time and I hope McDaniels does prove me wrong.

Kork has to go right? Coaching guru Doc Rivers no longer plays him and he’s asked for a trade. Can we improve the b/u center position please?

He's also around the same experience as Thybulle and someone Doc never coached. Which means he's pointless come playoff time when Doc will turn to vets over him.

There are no smart moves in this market if you're a buyer. If you want a rotation playoff player, you're going to pay for it.
