Tatum had a good game so law of averages dictates he’ll put up to 3 stinkers because he’s so shot reliant.

Amazing win! We took one without the big guy. I really do prefer him being a 22/12/2 block guy with best defence in comp ala what AD is doing at the Lakers right now. And let Harden/Maxey take the offensive load.

That version is far superior than the offensive slanted Embiid imo, saves the gas better too if only focusing on one end.

Definitely. Specifically on the boards, and playing good positional defense and being in position for help... Not necessarily being a daredevil for every block

If Harden wins us next game then I'm fully on board believing we're winning it all. I have faith right now, but that will make me believe with the confidence I did with the Eagles this year (hopefully with a different result).

Harden didn't make the all star game this year, lol. This dude was disrespected all year.

Horses for courses especially in a playoff series with max 7 games but I wouldn’t mind seeing Reed with Embiid.

I’ve been down on Tucker as he doesn’t solve one of the main issues in rebounding. Reed has a better matchup vs Tatum/Brown with his athleticism and size because they can essentially shoot over the top of Tucker whenever they want.

Kind of like a Cavs setup on steroids.

So coming into this game. I had a feeling they could be fine offensively. Exceeded my expectations.

But I figured they'd struggle to get stops.... This was true and also exceeded my expectations. I thought Reed would hold up while on the floor defensively and rebounding.... but get in foul trouble. Well, rebounding was good. These guys have got to play better perimeter defense.

Yeah it’s probably that 16 point 5 block game against the Grizzlies close out that had me thinking Embiid can definitely do that. AD was looking like a taller prime Duncan out there. At one point Memphis was shooting sub 20% in close at the half it basically hot lava lol. Amazing game probably the best 16 point game I’ve ever watched.

Also, not getting switched so easily. Reed got put on the perimeter too easily.

This affected our rebounding too, that play where Horford scored after two offensive rebounds was basically because Reed was guarding someone (Tatum?) on the wing

This. Play a zone all game if it keeps Reed near the rim. They did almost all their damage inside when he was switched out.

They’re gonna blitz Harden next game. Team needs to be ready.

Harden has adjusted his game to account for refs not calling fouls. Taking a lot of midrange, floaters and catch and shoot 3’s. Excellent adjustment right when we needed it.

This game reminded me of game 1 vs the Lakers in 2001.

So Memphis supposedly was fine trading Melton because he was a "playoff choker". Way to rely on small samples. Thanks! His first half shooting was why we were in striking distance for Harden's heroics.

Boston it's gonna probably blitz Harden next game, which is gonna be an issue if PJ is the one coming to screen for him.

Maxey is gonna have to hit some of those open shots he couldn't make in this one

Harden has been selfish all year... I've been asking for him to shoot that midrange all year. That thing is a cheat code for him.

Yeah, that would be me. ;) Not trying to play smart, but it's the sports. If you can do anything to disrupt the game plan of the favoured team, you have a shot. And we stayed in the game and managed to ride it out. But still, look what kind of a game it took from James.
