How much mass has he gained?

Feel like if the Sixers wanted Morris then they would have signed him before Pompey wrote an article saying he wants to sign here.

My vote is for Morris. He's serviceable.

Better not affect his shooting.

Can say the same about any remaining free agent though, sometimes they just take time. The Grizzlies cleared space for Kennard weeks ago, it was only announced a few days ago. Sometimes players wait til the last minute for that high offer before they cave and take the vet min.

I'm pretty indifferent whether it's Morris or Bertans. I think I'd slightly favor Morris.
Was hoping for Osman, but considering he wasn't mentioned I'm assuming he's not in the cards.
Can't really think of anyone else out there that I'd be interested in really.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 5
I would wait until the last minute to maybe with Morris or Covington in case someone shakes loose too Daryl. (He's so smart)
I am the last person on this board to say this because I do understand the difficulty of playing young guys in a role with a team with these type of expectations. But, Morris can't even move defensively. We saw something out of Council last season, not much, but something for spot minutes. We've seen something from Martin for years on different teams. I think Philly is in position to just sign the best player possible if something comes up or just go with what they have.
Even with shooting and bertans, I think Gordon specificallyand Lowry and hopefully McCain give you that bench 3pt specialist vibe without being total liabilities. The biggest concerns from 3 are Martin and Oubre... I can showcase numbers that give me every reason to be expecting 36 or above from both of them as long as the stars stay healthy to get them open shots. The stars themselves including the center shot 38% or more from 3 last year. Maxey is even better than his numbers show. Rosters good

Sure just saying from the vibe of the article it sounds more like Morris wants to sign here for the minimum but the Sixers are waiting to see if other guys say yes first. (Whether they're just waiting on Bertans or that's just a name Pompey heard, idk.) As opposed to the other minimum guys they've signed where it seems like they were waiting for the player to take the minimum.

IMO Marcus Morris won't be holding back Council or KJ from earning PT.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 5
Am I the only one that remembers Morris couldn't guard a chair last year? I guess for your 12th man it's not that important, and since they thankfully got a real back up for the center position, it's not as important to have someone who can at least play average defense. 3p shooting should be covered by the other new additions which is the only thing Morris really brings to the table. I feel like almost anyone would be a better choice at this point in Morris' career.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 5
Nobody forgot, but we're talking about the 14th roster spot in August. Everybody decent has signed and other teams have more money. My first choice would be Osman, but at this point I'm assuming he not an option and either wants a bigger role or more money.bball4life wrote:Am I the only one that remembers Morris couldn't guard a chair last year? The options discussed are Morris and Bertans. If you think Morris is limited, especially at defense, wait until you see Bertans.

Morey said last week they were zeroing in on two two-way targets that "nobody is really talking about."
Almost makes it feel like he's trageting someone from overseas or another league. I could be way off though.

There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Alright, Maxey has an aura to him now. Might see the next step this year.

Maxey’s gonna be a true 3-level scorer this year.

He's taken the next step for the last 2 years. So in this case it would be 3 years in a row, which I don't doubt one bit.

I kinda wish we had Draymond Green now. It's not realistic but he possesses everything we need.
