I'll be looking forward to draft night.

Ed: There had better be a move.

I love that deal for Cleveland.

And Houston just redeemed themselves a tiny bit, Getting Green was a really good move, I like him and his potential and think he could still be quite the player.

With him or Thomas I think we could have gotten the 6th seed and with Orlando statying pat I think we could have taken them in a 7 game series. I just hope we make the playoffs now cause if we dont I think it will be a huge missed oppurtunity for our young players.

That was my thought process. I felt we either needed to cut bait or try and upgrade. Of course that is easier said than done and maybe Ed tried. We don't exactly have a lot to offer. I was hoping if we attached Smith and or Carney to Green it may have brought back a more useful piece and got rid of Green in the process. Oh well.

Was watching NJN-CHI last night and was thinking about Smith, too.

Although, a couple of bricks and turnovers in OT calmed that thought down.

We need to make the playoofs now because otherwise this will be a season wasted for the young players. Imagine if Thad got to play big minutes vs Garnett, Wallace or Howard in the playoffs? It would be huge for him in his rookie season. It is now playoffs or bust cause we arent getting a top pick.

I disagree. Last year was a bust becuase we moved out of the high lottery playing Miller and Joe Smith heavy minutes. There were several teams with more young talent that we passed due to tanking and injuries.

This year we are going to miss out on a high pick because we are winning games with our young talent. Outside of Miller, everyone else is 26 or under, and our most promising players are just breaking out. Miller is a vet, but he seems to bring out the best from our young core- which may help them hit their peak sooner.

It is hard to complain if we are winning because our young talent is already beating out the other lesser teams in the league.

This kind of sucks no trades to make the team better. No top pick mediocre Eastern Conference meaning we will probably slip into the playoffs with a well below .500 average. Ed really dropped the ball today.

aside from Kurt Thomas and his expiring contract, there is no one that has moved in the last week that I would have wanted the Sixers to give up assets for.

the only guys i wouldve been interested in that were traded would've been:

bonzi wells
delonte west
gerald green

i think the first two couldve been servicible as starting 2 guards, allowing willie green to go to the bench and i think the 3rd wouldve been a nice expiring to have and be able to judge bc he has some talent

Any of those guys would have been fine- but nothing to lose much sleep over.

Of all the players who moved, the only ones I had remote interest in for the Sixers were Delonte West, Kurt Thomas and Shelden Williams ...

Obviously, Devin Harris and the Matrix, too, but those weren't happening.

All in all, it makes total sense why Eddie stood pat for now... The team is playing hard and improving every night.... His true leverage will come this summer.

Green is a shiny version of Carney. If either of them can realize their potential they would be great. I would like West here but hes nothing more then a career backup. Bron will make him look like a great player. Wells, never really liked him. Is he expiring?

CinciSixersFan wrote:What is everyone's thoughts on this crazy Chi/Cle/Sea Deal?

Cavs get: Ben Wallace, Joe Smith, Wally World, Delonte West
Bulls get: Drew Gooden, Larry Hughes, and Cedric Simmons
Sonics get: Ira Newble, Donyell Marshall, Chris Duhon

I get it from the Cavs perspective. Wallace and Wally World would play well if interested. Joe Smith is a good pickup. Delonte West is underrated.

What I don't get is from the Sonics and Bulls perspective. For the Bulls, yes, they need interior scoring and Drew is a good player but why pick up Hughes and his contract? Don't they have Gordon and Deng to worry about this offseason? As the Sonics, why can't they just let Wally's contract expire next year? Yes, Ira and Duhon's contract are expiring but Donyell's is for the beyond the next season. Weird trades.

Cavs win hands down.

Depending on what plays out this summer, I'd love to bring in Delonte West.

David West, too.

It would've been exciting to make some move.

But in the end it's nice to think that we're going into this offseason with decent young players that are good enough to (possibly) make the playoffs without a PF even on the roster, near max cap room, our first round pick and multiple future picks, and actual trade assets.

I agree that it would have been exciting to make a move, especially if it would have been one that solidified us at PF.

But Ed held on to all of our major assets, and we will continue to battle till the end of the year, but ith Atlanta and Chicago making deadline deals, I think may end up out of the playoff hunt. Which is fine by me. Hopefully we can get lucky in the lottery and/or land a decent free agent.

Chicago's deal made it a bit of a better team. But not by much. Maybe a game or so if lucky

Agreed- if there is another team out there wanting to give him PT. Maybe the Cavs would want him?

I agree as well about GG. The guy may have caused a lot of noise in Utah but he's been a true pro here based on the interviews and write-ups that have hit the papers. I say set him free.
