Brown and Bonga are the only two pieces that I'd want and luckily they appear to be the two pieces on the outside looking in for playing time. Especially because the Wizards are going to be force-feeding Avdija playing time at the SF spot (where Brown and Bonga played the vast majority of their minutes).

Hachimura - 30.1 mpg
Bertans - 29.3 mpg
Brown - 25.8 mpg
Bonga - 18.9 mpg

Kinda unrelated, but I'm glad KOC is branching off of the ringer podcast feed. That way I don't accidentally end listening to Logan Murdock (don't mind Raja though)

Kyrie = serious headcase
Paul George = liar
Kawhi = lowkey headcase

Wouldn't a Danny Green, Ferguson, Scott for Hield and Bjelica work salary wise? Add in picks and swaps...

Danny Green is no use to them.

If im trading for Hield.. i wouldnt overpay more than Tobi (who i think is better than Hield) or just mere expiring.

The only reason why I’d explore Tobi is because Hield’s contract is easier to play around or easier for other team’s to absorb. I’d also demand Jabari’s 7M expiring if that’s the case. But then, I’d want Hield to be traded by the end of the season. Not much of a fan of him.

Ideally? I’d just want mere expirings for Hield.

If Darryl puts together the Seth Curry / Buddy Hield backcourt, I'll be convinced he's purposely trolling me.

Hot Take: Wizards are going to really take off with Westbrook and this trade will go down as one of the best of the offseason. He might make Beal regress a bit as a scorer. But I think he's going to demand quite a bit out of the younger guys. Don't think it will be to the same extent, but I could see this become a similar Jimmy Butler to the Heat situation.

Doesn't seem like there's many egos on the team with long, versatile options surrounded Beal and Westbrook: Avidja, Troy Brown, Rui, Bertains, and Wagner add great role player upside. They are probably my darkhorse team to make some noise in the East.

This is all if Westbrook isn't cooked. Hopefully the covid fog is over for him.

I dont think the offense is that much better if you replace Hield with Green.

His ability to create on offense isnt that good that you’re better off with a spot up shooter who can defend with Danny Green.

Would be interesting if RW will continue to go for his triple double average now that he’s playing for a team that isn’t structured to be a contender.

I am fine with trading for Hield over Green. Green is overrated at this point his defense isn't what it once was and while he can hit the open three he doesn't do anything else.

The issue is the Kings are clearly rebuilding so if there was a deal to be made it would have been at the time of us having horford. We traded to get out of that contract and already paid a premium for it. The window for a move like that is gone with a rebuilding club. If they wanted out of Hield deal and didn't want a bunch of assets back we could trade them green ++ but I don't see us offering much other then in the way of cap relief. The time to do that was like I said prior to horford

And to be clear I would have preferred to move Horford for Hield and Barnes plus some extra picks but we made the deal. It's done and over with. So unless they want Green for Hield plus like a 2nd there is nothing to talk about.

Just because he's 33 doesn't mean he can't defend anymore. Danny Green just had his best defensive season since he was a Spur. Not to mention how much intangibles he brings to the table. Such a good dude. Such a smart player. Such a consummate pro. There's a reason why teams with Danny Green tend to perform well in the postseason. You need guys like him to fill out the ancillary roles.

Hield is more dynamic in putting points on the board (although he's not a shotcreator by any means). But he does not play defense at all. And he's been a losing player that whines and complains and gets benched for various things. Very poor intangibles.

I think that's a given.

The Wizards are one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA. They play Bertans at PF for long stretches. Westbrook will be hunting rebounds at a dramatic rate.

Question. How much better is Hield than Milton?

I think if Milton plays for the Kings and he gets that much opportunity, Milton may average Hield’s ppg but maybe even with better %s

I think self awareness is important in this comparison. Hield might be a better shooter, but he absolutely doesn't understand his role.

I think he's better by a wide enough margin.

Milton is a better passer, but that's about the end of the advantages he has over Hield.

Hield is just a much more confident and aggressive player. Also, he's a better dribbler (although neither are special at this).

Even if you put Milton on the Kings and gave him a green light, would he take it? Confidence and aggression plays a major role in scoring production.
