After all this, I don't think we can afford to draft a Duarte or Butler. We need a bonafide all-level creator. Stand pat and take Cooper/Johnson/Shackelford or trade up for Mann if he's falling for some reason.

This is going to be for naught. I suspected the pick was as good as gone. It’s going to be part of a deal you watch.

Here's a guy I think is going to soar up the draft boards if he makes some pre-draft noise. Has a workable form, ridiculously good around the rim, explosive athlete...

Yeah, I'm a Carton guy. People may not impressed with his jumper or his ppg, but he's got elite handle and scoring off the dribble ability.

To follow up on Carton:

Terance Mann (career FSU): 9.4ppg (55% FG, 60% 2FG, 32% 3FG, 67% FT), 5.1 rpg, 1.9 apg, .8 spg
DJ Carton (career OSU/Mar): 11.9ppg (45% FG, 55% 2FG, 32% 3FG, 74% FT), 4.1 rpg, 3.4 apg, .9 spg

I know there's a size discrepancy but Carton's lower FG% is due to his higher rate of 3's. Feels like he has a better shooting profile than Mann. Probably should have stuck around at OSU so he could get the BPM bump by playing with better players.

Carton is also insanely athletic:

That type of athleticism is what allows him to have an elite 2FG% for a 6'2 guard.

If Roko Prkačin, DJ Carton, and Aaron Wiggins for some reason fall out of the first round, I'd aggressive try to trade back into it and grab them. Let Roko spend some time in Europe, get Carton some G-League time to refine that shot, put Wiggins on the active roster. I would take any of the three with our first pick if I'm being honest. Most of the picks I'm seeing in mock drafts have no business going in the first round around our area.

Tankathon has us taking Cam Thomas? Dude is not athletic, is a chucker, and plays no defense. No thanks.

Definitely like Carton better than McBride and Butler, even though the latter two are more well-rounded and play defense. Carton is by far the best creator of the three.

I’m actually hoping we land Trey Murphy with our second rounder, I think our first pick is gone.

If we got Trey with our second rounder (don’t know why he’ll be there) I’ll be super happy.

Chandler Vaudrin is a nice no-name school kid to pay attention to as summer addition.

6'7" 210 with legit PG skills. Fantastic at scoring off the dribble and distributing.

Murphy feels like a strictly C&S SF who doesn’t have the form to shoot with a hand in the face. Could be wrong since I’m judging off his highlights. Ironically he feels like a poor man’s DeAndre Hunter. Nice role player, would be interested in late second, but he’ll go way before that.

Murphy looks like he can attack a closeout a little and block a few shots, but ultimately, I don't think he provides much playoff value.

It’s a second rounder guys your’e overthinking it. To get NBA potential quality that late you take it and go lol

Watch he’ll spend a long time in this league.

A 3&D that does both by all metrics/eye test under the sun is always welcome to any NBA team from here on out.

Won’t be surprised if hits 40% 3ball by second season and be a plus defender. That at minimum guarantees a contract basically any time you wish lol.

For me he has a very very safe floor.

I'd rather just keep taking swings at guys that have the potential to make a postseason impact. I only want guys that can either score off the dribble or makes plays defensively.

I'd rather whiff on attempting to find the next Jordan Clarkson than hit on uncovering the next Duncan Robinson. Shooting specialists don't do anything for me.

Dude is raw and has some rough non-shooting stats, but I'll be damned if he doesn't have one of the sweetest shots in the draft. If you can build some strength and work on fundamentals/effort, he's a Rashard Lewis type player.

I liked him last year and I'm still kinda on board. Doesn't really get to the rim much nor does he draw fouls. has some ridiculous shooting percentages and a three year career of 60 TS%. Feels like another Malachi Flynn where he's too small (both build and height), but has the stats that requires you to at least take a flier on him in the second.

I'm going to re-emphasize my love for Matt Mitchell from SDSU. I hope he goes undrafted and we pick him up. He has a Draymond feel to him as an undersized PF with handles and effort. Not the passer, but he's not completely deficient in that regard. He's also a better shooter than Dray. Needs to also lose weight like Dray did coming out of MSU.

Cartier Diarra is old at 23 and has been inconsistent at the college level, but he's got some freaky traits when combined with his handle, defense, passing, and athleticism.

Also, best name in the draft.

Pippen one of my favorite players in college ball this year. I have Duane Washington on my list, too. Might check it out.
