Why all this extra stuff? I feel like Tobi for Bogey straight up is quite doable. We don't need Alec Burks or monte morris. We can still make other trades or wait until the off-season. Sixers would be an amazing offensive team with Bogey they already lead the league in offensive efficiency. Bogy could lead the league in 3's as a Sixer. He's never been paired with two offensive talents like Embiid and Maxey. He would be wide open a lot.
Tobi for Bogdanovic straight up doesn't work. Tobi makes $39M and Bogi makes $20M. You need other players to match salaries and make the swap.

Love the idea of Bogdanovic in the offense, no idea how it would work defensively tho. Maxey-Melton-Bogdanovic-Batum that’s not much perimeter D outside of 6’3 Melton. Can’t see how we’d match up vs the Celtics or Bucks

I believe Pascal would be the most cost-effective choice since Jerami is committed to a multi-year contract. Pascal, on the other hand, has more control over his trade value. If Pascal expresses interest in joining our team, we could likely acquire Tobias and a 2nd round pick for him. This is because, theoretically, we could sign Pascal in the offseason.

I also see Jerami as a good fit with Ayton and the team they're building.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind any of the three, but Siakam is my preferred choice.

The idea of Siakam asking for one place and lowering his value is fine in theory.

Except Masai has proven he would rather let guys walk than take the discounted price. Irrational actor. Just like Ainge and Morey.

The price for Siakam will remain astronomical.

And if you’re going to go all in with Toronto, then go after both OG and Trent. But I digress.

The Sixers need to go hunting for a long term partner for Maxey. Taller younger defender, ball handler would be really nice but not necessary if they can shoot, and vice versa if they can initiate an offense then shooting can come later. Melton goes back to the bench where he belongs.

What if we were to look at additive pieces rather than a major shake up?

Kork/House/picks for Caruso

Morris/2nds? for Bojan Bogdanovic

Starters remain the same, closing lineup would change (Caruso and whichever 2 forwards are playing the best that night).

Caruso gives the team an elite perimeter defender capable of matching up from anyone from Dame to Tatum in a playoff series, as well as secondary playmaking next to Maxey. Bogdanovic gives them a guy that's capable of being a complimentary 3rd option to Maxey/Embiid on the nights when Tobias poops his pants.

In the off-season you'd have optionality in terms of cap space vs retaining the team depending on how much success they have and what's available to them.

Sixers out- Tobi, Springer and Korkmaz
Sixers in- GTJ, Bogdanovic and Boucher

Hawks out- Hunter, Bogdanovic, Griffin, 2024 Kings 1st(top 14 protected)
Hawks in- Siakam and Korkmaz

Raptors out- Siakam, GTJ and Boucher
Raptors in- Tobi, Hunter, Griffin, Springer, and Kings ‘24 1st via Hawks

Maxey
GTJ
Bogdanovic
Batum
Embiid
Melton, Oubre, Boucher, Reed, RoCo, Pat Bev, Morris

I feel like Maxey-GTJ-Bogdanovic-Batum-Embiid-Melton-Oubre would be a very strong and great fitting 7 in a playoff series. Just need above average play out of some combo of Boucher/Reed/RoCo/Morris to backup Batum and provide solid mins when Embiid isn’t on the court.
May have to dump Boucher in the off season, but I don’t think Bogdanovic’s contract would be too prohibitive to sign/trade for someone in the off season. Plus having him under contract would lessen the blow of likely losing at minimum 1 of Melton/Oubre to a higher bidder when they hit free agency.

Dude you must absolutely hate Harris. Every trade you make with him in it is horrible for the Sixers.

Yes, and no.

It is not better to just hold on to him. He's not "too good" for this type of package. The Sixers need more pieces, more youth, more athleticism around Jo and Maxey.

I think that's a worse starting lineup than what we have. It would be pretty tough to matchup defensively with Maxey-GTJ-Bogdan as your 1-3.

Bogdan would be a nice addition if we could get him using ancillary pieces.

What would it take to get Jimmy Butler back here?

All of the assets plus Harris ? And then the Heat could sign Leonard or George in the offseason. We would have a closer and someone hungry to win a title for at least 2 - 3 years.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

What perimeter D are we losing? Tobi?? Melton is still there, if you have to play him late in games for D then so be it. But don’t see how GTJ/Bogi defending the perimeter is any worse than what Tobi gives us.

You lose the ability to throw Batum on perimeter guys with that lineup since none of them can defend bigs.

And yes, I think Tobias is a better defender than Bogdan, particularly if we're talking forwards. We've seen him do a reasonably good job on some pretty good players. He doesn't provide off ball impact, but you aren't adding that here either.

And yes, I think Melton is a much better defender than GTJ. Im aware he'd still be on the team in this scenario, but I'm just comparing lineups.

Reports have them as being hot on Tobias for a while now. FWIW
always a jump shot away.

Tobias would gum up that free wheeling, ball movement, quick trigger offense so quickly that I can’t imagine a worse fit for him out there. If they really are interested they are nuts.

The most reasonable and strongest trade is Tobias, Springer, KJ and picks for Kuzma and Tyus Jones.

Yeah, while Tobias is not very good, he still is better at just about everything than Kyle Kuzma. So absolutely no picks.

However, if you're going to do that trade... just trade for Jerami Grant and Brogdon.

F*** it. Even though it's an overpay, just send Tobias, Korkmaz, House, a 1st and two 2nds for Grant and Brogdon.

Those two fit what the Sixers need, and being rid of Tobias is a cause for celebration. It's then up to Jo and Maxey how far the team goes.
