Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 3
Like we learned this year (and are still learning), it's silly to look up upcoming free agent classes because a large majority of those guys end up getting extended before even hitting the market.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Bona/Watford/Barlow
Embiid/Drummond/Broome

Agree
There was a guy on the radio saying the same thing he thinks Morey is living in 2010 instead of 2024

Durryl plz
Its for cap purposes. We don't have that issue. That is another bonus for any team we trade with; they get a massive trade exception.

Who is Lauri Markkanens agent? I want to sign one of his other clients so we can be in his ear.

I just saw something and remember we have some of the Clippers picks / swap rights. I guess theoretically if PG opted in and wanted to be traded, the clippers may prefer those back over whatever GS is offering.

I don't get that Hawks-NOP trade.
Murray overlap with CJ and Trey, so are they moving CJ too? Why put Nance on the trade when they're likely moving Jonas too?.
And the Hawks are just a mess dude.

Both Murray and Trey need the ball in their hands.
Atlanta tried 2 years in a row and barely play in type of team 7-10 seeds.

I was talking about Trey Murphy, no Trae Young.
I get Trae and Murray don't fit together, but the guy cost them 3 firsts and Mikal Bridges value was 5 firsts. I'm pretty sure they could have got more than Nance and 2 picks

It's "silly" to see scroll through the free agent class? Last I checked this is a basketball forum...The title is "RealGM." I don't see what's so "silly" about looking at the list of free agents! Oh and if you read my posts again, you'll certainly take notice that I mentioned the trend where guys are basically extending with their current teams. I clearly pointed that out. I can only assume this post was directed at me since I made a list of some of the 2025 free agents that caught my eye. I'm sorry for adding insight to the forum. I'll stick to mono syllable opinions about the roster. "we suck" "We wont sign him" "We will lose" "Sky will fall."
The 25 Free Agent list looks a lot better than this years...With that being said, the trend lately has been guys basically just sticking with their teams and re-upping. We haven't seen a lot of big time free agent signings compared to years past.

Why would the Clippers do that? I can’t see the clippers trading with the team within their own conference

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 3
Sixers just are not a free agent destination for
Some reason.
I think PG stays home in California.
There is no one left.

If that’s the case, I’d see if they are looking to move Wiggins for cheap/free. He might turn it around with a change of scenery. Can be a good defender when locked in.

Being optimistic but I feel like if news broke he was gonna opt out and then sign with Philly after all the news that we were gonna go hard at him and after embiid did what he did, we would get punished lol. Reports came out we waned on him right after embiid tampered.

I used to think that too until Draymond got fined. League doesn’t enforce it but it’s players definitely can tamper

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 3
I'm quite sure Murray could've been had for 2 picks and Morris back in January or December.
I said trade should've been done. If real stars are getting traded, Philly can't bid. Free agency was not how you get a3rd star, and DJM fit the timeline, the roster, and budget.
Although, with New Orleans and New York blowing loads, it's looking easier to be a trade destination. Warriors aren't quitting and they have assets too. OKC definitely still scary.
I'm totally on the Klay Thompson and other role player bandwagon now. You have your stars.
But Morey not taking that DJM gift horse. Also blew this past postseason. As much as he was limping Joel as healthy in that series as we've seen him for a long time, but didn't get help outside of Maxey and a little Oubre

From what I've observed, Dejounte Murray doesn't seem to fit Daryl Morey's preference for players with high shooting percentages.
If I were the Hawks, I'd consider trading Trae Young. A lineup featuring Dejounte Murray along with wings like De'Andre Hunter and Jalen Johnson, and adding Zach Edey, would be quite promising.

I am thinking the best players to sign would be Derozan and Caldwell-Pope. That’s $50mm for both. Still would have $12 mm on cap space to get a PF or resign Oubre and then the mid-level for a PF.
Add Batum, Covington, and Lowry on minimum contracts and I am liking this team and it’s depth.

What about,
Ja Morant
Desmond Bane
Marcus Smart
Jaren Jackson Jr
Zach Edey
How do you think that team will fair?
