No coincidence this happens after Jokic's 30/20/20 game.

Eventually basketball fans are going to have to discuss the ramifications of modern stat inflation and alter our perception of what these numbers really mean.

For example, in Lebron's age 24 season, he had 10 games with 25+ points 10+ rebounds and 5+ assists.

So he recorded this in 12% of his total games played.

Deni Avdija (who?) (also age 24) has seven games with 25+ points 10+ rebounds 5+ assists SINCE MARCH 2ND.

He’s recorded this in 43% of his games since 3/2.

Inflation!

NBA regular season basketball is so often unwatchable, and that odious snake Silver damn well knows it. His only answers are gimmicks on top of gimmicks because shortening the season, which might solve part of the problem due to games meaning more, isn't an option.

Bring Mike Malone.

A martyr for Jokic FC who forced him to farm on/off splits and triple doubles over winning rotations.

Malone figured out how to win with a C who is bad at defense. He's been doing it consistently for the past 5 years. They still have a good shot at HCA in the 1st round this year.

And for all this he got fired three games before the playoffs.

Best explanation I can come up with is they looked at Memphis and said "hold my beer".

This season has been very weird.

It will expose the huge gap between Embiid and Jokic, specially on IQ.

Joel has been patient to a fault during his career and has express contrition whenever a coach has been fired. Doesn't meddle (as far as we know) in personnel decisions. Universally hated around the NBA.

Jokic shows indifference towards the sport which is seen as "cool". He has his HC and GM fired as they're going into the playoffs. Universally loved around the NBA.

Joel has had how many coaches in 5 years? He’s currently working on another getting fired as we speak. Maybe Malone is just the d-bag he comes across as.

Joel also doesn’t take care of the stuff he needs to in order to really have a say on anything. Imagine trying to fire a coach when you’re a choke artist, notoriously aloof and get called out for not being on time to team meetings
always a jump shot away.

The difference having a ring and being available for games makes.

Much larger gap in roster construction that both players have been apart of & defensive impact.

He cares a lot more about protecting his rep and stathunting for MVPs than he pretends to, or playing a winning brand of basketball.

Somehow seems to evade criticism whenever he underperforms under the light and that's more often than national media would allow you to believe.

Didn't the Nuggets GM say that Malone gave too many minutes to veteran players instead of playing young guys that the Nuggets drafted? Who does this remind us of? Hmmm.
Also: It is possible that Russell Westbrook contributed to a demise of yet another coach and franchise lol.

The Sixers already have their new Tobias. His name is Paul George.

And I'm sure George would be among the leaders of a "biggest year-to-year decreases in team win total" chart if one existed.
