Needs to make sure he gets paid before his body completely breaks down. Can always demand a trade later.

This was inevitable. There is no such thing as Embiid insurance. We go as far as his lower body can take us. I really want to know what the protections are.

I think this was partially a reaction to the Hayward contract. If you aren't in a glamour destination, you can't risk pissing off your stars.

It's a no-brainer to max him if the deal includes protections. Joel seems like a guy who's willing to bet on himself, so it wouldn't surprise me if he agreed to heavy protections just to get Colangelo to push in the max.
