It will be a very Sixer thing to do if we don't give them Rivers now, live trough another early playoff exit and fire him next season.

I think it's all money dependent. If Lakers are willing to trade for him, Rivers is gone. If not, he's back next year.Zumramania wrote:FireMorey wrote:They may want Rivers. Doesn’t mean the Sixers want to give him up.

I hope this is the case.Jailblazers7 wrote:I mean, this feels like it up to Doc lol. If he wants to leave, then he’s gone whether we trade him or not. We might be able to swing a deal but unless Doc’s contract is unusually strict I assume he can just void the contract and accept a new role with the Lakers.

Sounds like bad news. (?)

Not to me. He’s a good coach and none of the names mentioned as replacements are definitively better. Replacing him with Cassell is an absurd notion. No one has any clue how good or bad he’d be. At least we know Rivers is fine enough and you can do a lot worse. That counts for something in the NBA where if you have good talent, you can win titles as long as your coach isn’t horrible, which Rivers is not.
Morey is the one who should be all eyes on, not the coach. Get better talent and maybe you’d go farther in the playoffs.

You can easily flip that argument on its head.
Morey is hamstrung by the lack of assets left by his predecessors while Glenn needs to be able to think outside the box and maximize the talent he has, which he certainly does not.
