No he really doesn't. The last two games teams literally started to let Matisse open and he being there closes the lane for Embiid.

Yeah I don’t know what Thybulle has done besides be terrible to earn a starting role.

I mean, he has developed as a good cutter. But if teams sag off you, it doesn't matter how good you're at cutting.

This is more important now with Harden as a playmaker, you need to open space for Harden to attack the rim. Without harden attcking we have the same issue of always: no playmaking on the halfocurt

Doubtful, unfortunately. He should, though.

Embiid
Niang (shooting)
Green (defense AND shooting)
Thybulle (defense)
Harden

Is the most logical lineup we can field.

- Harden can score if he wants to but he plays more of a facilitator with the Nets. But I just find it that he seems out of rhythm when he has to shift to being a scorer.

He played primarily PG, but he struggled a lot because of the lack of spacing due to no Joe Harris and no Kyrie.

Mills and Kyrie were both playing that game. He seems to be dribbling the ball to his legs on iso quite often that game.

Let's not be bashful.

They both need to go to the bench because neither shoot the ball or make plays defensively.

I'd be fine with that too. Put Niang, Green Thybulle in the Starting Lineup.

Neither do I, not a chance.

It is stunning to me how much hate is out there all of a sudden for this guy.

Simmons is an angel, Harden is the devil.

Green is burnt toast at this point and cannot start.

There's also zero chance Glenn doesn't roll out Jo, Harris, Thybulle, Harden, and Maxey as his starters.

Which is unfortunate because that lineup doesn't make a lot of logical sense and it hurts the optimization of your hall of fame duo.

I would consider starting Niang as Hardens corner shooter. Maxey is going to have to be PG when Harden sits so if he starts Harden should sit earlier then him. We will likely see a few combos for starting rotations. Thybulle should start and certainly end games when we have late leads. When Embiid sits Harden should be in with WCS at all times.

Agree with JH niang should be starting and getting 30 minutes a game. He’s the perfect complement to James Harden.

A discontented Harden over like half of a season had already eclipsed the best ever performances Simmons has delivered in a 5 year NBA career.

Harden is held to a higher standard which is fine. He has the weapons available now.

Yes, but Doc cares about things like how his players feel about starting or not starting, he tries to keep the "stars" like Tobias happy and so on - this is a flaw of a "players coach". But I hope that Harden will raise his voice and not let Doc field nonsensical lineups.

Let's wait how Maxey and Harris will operate next to Harden before we drastically reduce their minutes in favor of Niang...

Perhaps it is wishful thinking, but I do think there's a decent chance that Harden will increase their 3PA with a significant amount. Harris has been an elite corner three shooter in his last 5 years. Due to his previous roles he was just never consistently put in the situations to shoot them.

Having multiple ball handlers in our starting line-up allows a more simplified role for Harris. Let him focus on the defensive end, have him more often in the corner within the starting unit and let him hunt smaller mismatches in bench units. Sure, he's a flawed player, but he's certainly much better than Niang.

The player who stands to have his minutes reduced as a function of Niang's shooting and its fit with Harden/Embiid is Thybulle. You can easily have Harden, Embiid, Maxey, Harris, and Niang on the floor all at the same time.

What'll be interesting to see is whether Harris can function more like he did when Jimmy Butler and JJ Redick were on the team. Less of an isolation guy and shot creator and more of a stretch four, catch and shoot guy. That's the role he needs to be in primarily.
