They should've traded Maxey at the trade deadline, because if that's what you're going to get from him with your bench units against the team between you and the NBA Championship, you need somebody better.

Back in February of 2018, a 21 year old Jaylen Brown went 2-9 for just 5 points in 32 minutes against the Celtic rival Cavs (a team that they couldn't get past in the playoffs). You don't trade your homegrown studs. You allow them to bloom.

That’s devoid of any context involving the organization and its current window of opportunity to win a championship. The 2017-2018 Boston Celtics and the 2022-2023 Philadelphia 76ers are two entirely different animals.

Except it was Evident Brown had much higher talent than Maxey, of course it wasn't guaranteed that Brown would make the jump he made, but I see no path for stardom in Maxey.

Don't make rash, kneejerk reaction trades. You stick with your homegrown young studs.

Realizing that given the age and functioning of the roster you have a limited window of opportunity within which to win a championship, and consequently selling high on a player with a questionable ceiling in the league, doesn’t have to be rash. It can be a highly deliberate, methodical decision.

If you trade for Halliburton instead of Harden last year, then you keep Maxey. If you trade for Harden instead of Halliburton, then you trade Maxey this year, once it becomes evident the addition of Harden and the other players added since then won’t get it done.

And that has certainly become evident.

you don't make future ruining trades to appease a 33 year old flight risk

and again Maxey's contract means you will either get equally unproven talent back or have to attach Tobias, who while is frustrating as hell is also a big part of the team, in order to get actual value back.

idk trading talent to fill another hole at the expense of another issue has not worked out for us. Again Idk if Maxey is a star level guy either BUT he unlike most of our prospects has improved each year of his career and one dry spell doesn't change that IMO...not to mention he is one of our better playoff performers as well. Some are just too short sighted and treat this sport like football. This season isn't worth making big moves to salvage IMO. They made their bed in the offseason and as of right now the best outcome relies on other teams falling apart via unforseen things and some luck...there was no realistic move available that would have changed that IMO.

When asked what that next step is for the duo, Rivers explained that he wants better spacing and he wants them to score and pass at the same level.

“Being able to score or create scoring for someone else,” Rivers added. “That’s the next level. Where both of them scoring and both of them are passing at the same time and being able to space the floor and get the ball to the other side of the floor and we score on that side as well. We haven’t done that yet.”

This is definitely the next step for the offense what happens outside of the P&R between Harden and Embiid. It always seem like Harden is overly focused on Passing it or Embiid overly focused on Scoring it during the P&R. Than you find them holding on to the ball and the offense stalling. Guys aren't cutting enough and the ball isn't moving enough.

Tobias and Korkmaz for depth,,length ,shooting and athleticism. I'm cool with that this off-season.

Resigning Harden and securing Maxey.

I like this team today and in the future still ..

Embiid and Harden combined for 69 pts and 20 assists. I guess they were listening.

Harden has only made 1 dunk for the entire season so far. Not that it matter just spitting some random facts

Joel Embiid currently leads the NBA in scoring, and James Harden leads in assists. They could become the fifth pair of teammates ever to lead the league in points per game and assists per game in the same season and the first to do so since 1981-82.

Highest volume ROLLERS in the pick-n-roll + their roller efficiency:

1. Embiid: 6.9—1.19 ppp
2. AD: 4.8—1.28
3. Ayton: 4.6—1.21
4. Bam: 4.54—1.13
5. Vucevic: 4.5—1.04
6. Poeltl: 3.7—1.38
7. Turner: 3.4—1.22
8. Mobley: 3.34—1.11
9. Sengun: 3.3—1.13
10. Allen: 3.0—1.15

As recently as ‘19-‘20 Embiid was 32nd in the league in roll volume with only 2.4 per game.

Yeah, we have been hovering around the same rankings since December i would say. Look great and i think we aren't moving from there unless the PnR between Embiid and Harden get us some stupid scoring nights on the next 10 games or so.

Our NetRtg doesn't look that impressive but no one is posting killer net ratings this season.

Boston and Milwaukee both have had great winning stretches. Now it’s our turn. KD likely out for the Phoenix game (3/25) and who knows when Steph will be back for GS (3/24).

Steph has played their last two games.
