Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 3
If I were Paul George, I'd prefer the Warriors over the Sixers. George should be treated like Jayson Tatum, where his team doesn't rely on him to go "super saiyan" every game. With the Sixers, there's a risk that if Joel Embiid gets injured or underperforms, George would be forced to carry a heavy load, perpetuating his "Pandemic P" nickname in Philadelphia. The Warriors offer a balanced team dynamic that suits George's style, plus the added benefit of living on the West Coast.

He’s gotta be going to the Warriors or back to LA at this point right. Otherwise he would have said by now that he is opting out.

Yea, but I’m saying, if he knew he wanted to be a sixer, he could just say he’s opting out now. Like KCP already said he’s opting out. If he hasn’t said it by now, I assume it’s because he (1) is waiting to see if the clippers up their offer / is going to sign with them or (2) is seeing if GS can make a deal the clippers find acceptable.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 3
Why wouldn't he wait? Everyone knows his preference is to get the full boat from the Clippers. The Warriors are a wide gap as the second option. Then the Sixers are the last option. He'll only come if he's not getting the max in dollars and term elsewhere. I imagine the Sixers are actually 4th in the pecking order after the Magic too.
This is what I hope is a bullet dodged but I'm getting concerned it might happen.

Yea, I guess my point is just that by him waiting, it shows we aren’t his top option. For whatever that is worth. Ideally I rather have a guy excited to come here, especially when we’re ready to pay him exactly what he wants.

If I were the Hawks, I'd consider trading Trae Young. A lineup featuring Dejounte Murray along with wings like De'Andre Hunter and Jalen Johnson, and adding Zach Edey, would be quite promising.
Pelicans already got DJM today for 2 picks and that team is going to be a problem.
Atlanta is likely keeping Trae unless they can trade for a better fit or player. They owe the Spurs hella picks so they're definitely not tanking... They may use the new picks from pelicans and package Trae or other pieces to upgrade

Wow, Atlanta is a mess, I’m not a huge Murray fan, but would have been happy to be in talks at that
Price.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 3
What if we could sign Paul George and a random buddy of his for the entire $61 million, similar to the Harden and Tucker deal?
Does he have a brother who can play?
Could it be westbrook perhaps?

Then Morey better prepare his “James Harden is a liar” speech.

Get ready for Eric Gordon, Naji Marshall and Andre Drummond....then a trade for a power forward on a one year deal.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 3
Paul George’s three real options this offseason:
• Re-sign with the LA Clippers
• Opt-in and force a trade to the Golden State Warriors
• Sign with the Philadelphia 76ers as a free agent
“To my to my mind, there’s only three real options that I can that I know about that Paul George really has. Stay in LA, which I would still put as the highest percentage chance of happening. Stay in LA for similar to what Kawhi got. Opt-in and trade, probably to the Warriors. The Warriors I know are interested in this. Third, sign straight up with the Sixers.”

Could also be a pivot to Ingram day but I still think I would rather Derozan as just a less expensive free agent signing.

So today is the last day for Paul George to opt-in, right?
If he won’t, GS are out and it’s between us and Clippers

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 3
If we sign PG, I predict he's traded within two years. He's not going to try. It's not going to work.
I'm not going to flip out if we do. I'll give it a chance. But I think his motivations are clear.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 3
KCP is known as a shooter but only averages about five 3PA per 36. Lower than I realized.
Is it worth paying him $20-25 mil/year, or better to go after someone similar for half the cost? Ie Naji Marshall, Caleb Martin, Royce O’Neale, Melton.
