as for the indy and toronto trades....jack wants to start so dont think that one is an option and we do not need belinelli with kapono, meeks and nocioni here

lots of talks going on..dont know whats hot as of right now.

could see kapono for foster straight up..could be something out of left field.

lots of unknowns right now

The Nets,, Bucks and Portland are proving how easy it is to acquire 2nd round picks. In fact, Portland will do a lot more before it's said and done. Apparently their are teams that like players in the 2nd round, yet Ed has told us, he didnlt think their was really anything worthy of butying in the 2nd round on the radio. It's all up to Comcast if they want to spend money. Otherwise Ed has to work around with hands tied. From my vantage point, I would not mind bringing Justin Vanardo to summercamp and playing him at PF.

SF76,

With Wesley Johnson being rumored to be the nets target, and the wolves having no need for Favors, and more so no need for Cousins. Do they shop the pick for a wing(Andre Iguodala.)

A package with Thad might be more appealing salary wise. But I wonder if the Sixers were even focused or cared about the potential of moving back into the top-5. Guess we'll find out 48 hours from now how this shapes out.

iguodala isnt going anywhere.

i think we will acquire another pick if we can shed some salary in a deal(lou, kapono, green, thad etc)

I think its going to be Turner and then we attempt to get Aldrich and if that fails...we try for Jordan in the 2nd round and if that fails...we try again for a big man post July 1. Its very possible that all we do tomorrow is get Turner...but we will be active throughout the draft attempting to deal.

SF76,

Just curious - you have mentioned both Lou and Thad as movable parts for a pick or a big man prospect either during the draft or right after. Have you heard which of the two has drawn more interest? I would find it very interesting if we were getting more inquiries about Lou given that he would cost another team more salary in a trade and I think it would say volumes about how much we (as fans) may be overvaluing Thad.

more interest in thad than lou from what i understand. kapono and green are also of interest because they expire next year. Havent heard Speight's name much which makes me think we may be keeping him.

The more info we get the less excited i'm getting for this draft. It's almost like we are setting up for the "we tried but failed pitch". Do you guys think in a weird way SF takes away some of the enjoyment? If we actually had the chance to ponder Iggy getting traded tomorrow it would be a lot more fun? It's been a forgone conclusion that we are getting Turner since the draft lottery. I guess this is how people feel in the NFL draft when they already signed the guys prior to the first pick lol.

There is still a chance for Lou,Thad,Green or Kapono to go tomorrow....and/or we get another pick/player. Nothing is hot right now. But that can change quickly...there is still reason to watch after turner gets picked......I wont talk to my buddy after like tomorrow mid-morning..the draft headquarters will be on lockdown..lol

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. For the casual fan that doesn't read this board, have access to insiders, tommorow's going to be really fun. But for us, we know Turner's a Sixer, so where's the excitement for us?

Heck, we even know who we're gonna draft if we get an extra pick :D. For us, the draft's sadly not a surprise.

There is something to be said for no surprises. I don't need a "we're passing on Paul Pierce and drafting Larry Hughes because we think he is more compatible with AI" moment. If that is the alternative, please bore me.

I watch the draft to see other teams do dumb things ( mind you that's normally us but since I;ve been watching the worst thing we've done is take Carney..who I wanted.) But man the draft is always full of wait wat? moments.

Pierce would have been traded in the span of two years playing with Iverson. Pierce was fairly selfish early in his career. Those two would not have coexisted.

Yeah and Pierce wouldn't be anything without the tanking of the Celtics getting him KG and Ray Allen.

Nothing is probably that hot right now because we are looking in what sounds to be the 8-14 range for a limited number of players. That is teh palce in the draft where anything can happen, so you have:

1. The Sixers not wanting to trade pre-draft because they don't know if their targets will be available at whatever spot they can pick up now.

2. A bunch of teams in that range who will be more or less willing to deal their pick depending on who is available when the clock starts for them.

So you get these scenarios:

a. Sixers make a deal (just an example) with Memphis for #12 because Aldritch is on the board and no one the Griz see as better than Thad is left for them.

b. Aldritch and any other people we targeted are gone, so the Sixers don't try to deal Thad until after the draft and look to grab a mid-second rounder for Jordan.

c. The Sixers see Aldritch there, but can't get a team to trade because the guy the other team wants is there unexpectedly.

SF isn't saying they won't make a trade, but we are sort of in that lock down period where the teams know most of the possible trades and want to wait to see how the picks play out for the teams in front of them before making a move.

The groundwork is done and the action will all be behind the scenes and occur during the draft. If Detroit passes on Aldritch, I think he slides to where the Sixers can grab him, but it's really a crapshoot right now.

That being said, I think Memphis after securing the 16 to go along with the 12 is likely to draft one and move one.

totally agree...i think teh scenarios are there and we just have to wait and see what happens now.

not much more to discuss unfortunately.

SF: What would you like to see happen? What players do you think outta this draft, you'd like to see in a Sixers uniform?

turner obviously and then aldrich somehow.

I would like to see us move Lou somehow..and maybe we will later.

I would like to trade Thad and keep green/kapono(let them expire).

Me too! I know people think he's a bum but I really think Aldrich could end up being a legit starter for a long time
