If you get Ariza...aren't the chances greater for Thad to possibly start at the 3 down the road?

Patterson just signed his deal which means he cant be traded for a few months.
Rockets are high on Patterson to be their PF of the future which is why Hill is expendable.
Thad is a hybrid 3/4 off the bench no matter if Iguodala is here or not.

Terrible trade idea.
This is why team's like the Rockets are always better than us.

Re: The Sixerfan1976 Off-Season Thread (Update: Page 35)
Word is CP3 is now on the trading block. Would the Sixers be interested in putting a package together for him? I'm gussing it would start with Igoudala and Holiday...
<rant>IMHO this is a drect fallout from the Lebron fiasco. Rumor is that CP3 wants to hook up with Amare and Carmello in NYC. These so called Super Teams are going to be the downfall of the league. It's bad enough to see teams go into obvious "tank mode" for a high draft pick but now you're going to see teams being gutted in hopes to land two or three players for max contracts. This will lead to league wide disparity and undermine the integrity of the game. If this is the way it's going to be then they should get rid of the salary cap altogether (like baseball) and let the teams with the deepest pockets win it all.</rant>

Exactly what I was thinking, they are essentially offering up thier cast-offs and an inferior Sf to replace Iggy. It seems like neither the league or the sixers consider Thad to have the skills to be a starter at the 3 and anything more than a very small ball 4.
SF, any inquiries from the Cavs about Iggy or Thad? They would seem to have a big hole in their frontcourt right about now. We could use a guy like Varejao, excellent defender on and off the ball, energy rebounder and they have some extra draft picks now.
As for the Clips, in addition to Aminu and Jordan, they have one very nice asset...Minny's first round pick this year or next. It is unprotected by 2012, not sure what level of protection it has this year.

heard nothing about the Cavs.
We will be talking to Minny about Koufos now that they got him from Utah in that Jefferson deal.
Not sure if thats a small or big deal. But we definitely like him.

LoL with our FO.
While other teams are making big noises out there, we're here busy making moves for Koufos. Why not just rebuild the whole team, since there seems to be no possible way of making major improvements for the team?
Center:
Spencer Hawes/Koufus/ Jason Smith
it's as good as just letting EB42 or Speights play the center. Because we're going to get raped anyway down low.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

well there are a few teams making big noise..and there are a few teams that are just changing mediocre parts up. lot of movement going on tho..will agree with that.
if you dont have to give up anything for a center prospect..its no harm no foul.
to summarize..they are LISTENING on inquiries/offers about Andre from:
Rockets,Bulls,Clips,Twolves that I am aware of....perhaps there are others but arent sure they want to deal him and are exploring other options with Thad,Kapono,Green etc.

What was the T-Wolves package? Brewer + TPE or something to that effect?

But when Iguodala's at his best, he should have the ball in his hands.
What's with the belief that Andre somehow isn't effective off the ball? The only time he was really ball dominant was under Eddie Jordan. And that was when he was least effective.

Re: The Sixerfan1976 Off-Season Thread (Update: Page 35)
A T-wolves offer that does not include Wes Johnson does not interest me. Iggy and Jason Smith for Koufos or a first round pick and Johnson, I'd consider that. Not even talking about Kevin Love, they aren't trading him after the Jefferson deal.
Brewer is more along the lines of what I would expect for Thad.

I'm sick of making moves like trading a better player for a worse player which this would be. Again, there is a reason so many teams want Iguodala.

Trading away their best player for garbage is pretty much how the Sixers opperate when you look back over the past 26 years:
Moses for Ruland
Barkley for garbage
AI for Miller

Corey Brewer isn't a good player, or even a good prospect.

Re: The Sixerfan1976 Off-Season Thread (Update: Page 35)
Yeah it's annoying and it kind of get's a little more annoying that people are still for moves like this. Over and over we give away every decent piece that we get because we seem to think that we will just create a championship team over night. Players like Iguodala constantly get pidgeon-holed into our franchise guy just because he happens to be our best player at the moment and for some reason we can't have that, we have to dump him for worse players with the belief that they will somehow become that missing piece. We need to stay with what we have and only make moves that make us better and move us forward instead of moving backwards for now and hoping years down the line we'll luck out with one of them, that's why we've been stuck in this mediocre state for so long.

Re: The Sixerfan1976 Off-Season Thread (Update: Page 35)
Wes Johnson on the other hand would be a great fit for us at SF. Better outside shooter, longer, seasoned from several years in college but still young and cheap.
I am definitely of the opinion taht unless we get a relatively young and talented wing who can shoot and/or a young and relatively talented defensive big (Deandre Jordan does not count, he's a career scrub) for Iggy, plus salary relief, picks or useful filler, then I keep Iggy. Iguodala is a very good player, hence why everyone wants him, plus having him early in the season will allow Turner to ease into the role he will likely eventually take as 'the man' on this team.

The Sixers are one of the worst franchises over the last 25 years.
Name all of the other teams who have failed to make it past the 2nd round all but once over the past 25 years?
Those teams join the Sixers as the dregs of the NBA.
I'm old enough to remember when things were different.

Re: The Sixerfan1976 Off-Season Thread (Update: Page 35)
I don't mean to come off like an a-hole here but the guy hasn't taken a shot in the NBA yet, we're all guessing about what he can do at this point. Let him prove himself and then if he is as good as Iguodala but a different type of player that we need and the same for them with Iguodala then fine, but until then we're just making the same old moves and just hoping it works out. On the other hand the Wolves know what they are getting and know they are filling a need, that's what we need to wait for. We always seem to be on the wrong/desperate end of every deal we make. I really don't care about cap relief, at this poing Iguodala is now worth what he is making and I'm not the one paying him so it means nothing to me. Work on getting rid of Brand or just riding his contract out, same with Kapono and all our other players that are making more than they're worth.

We Philly fans are known to be tough on the Sixers...
to the point we believe our best player (arguably) to be garbage, or only could net garbage in a trade...

I had a feeling that was going to happen once I heard he was part of the trade and based on your earlier reports. It makes sense too because I do vaguely remember the Sixers being interested in him during the draft a few years ago. Unless it's part of something larger however, the price tag should be minimal.
